The Vehicular Version Of Cutting Off One's Nose To Spite One's Face

Needless to say, or for some it may be very needful to say - Don't try this at home or in your car.

The Detroit Free Press: Woman suffers second-degree burns after setting bedbug-infested car ablaze

A 31-year-old woman from Pontiac was hospitalized with second-degree burns on Tuesday after attempting to exterminate bedbugs in her car.

Oakland County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched at around 1:39 p.m. Tuesday to the 1200 block of Perry Street in Pontiac to assist Waterford Regional Fire Department with a vehicle fire.

The woman reportedly had a panic attack due to having bedbugs inside her vehicle, according to a major incident report from Oakland County Sheriff. The woman decided to kill the bedbugs by pouring rubbing alcohol inside the vehicle and lighting it on fire. In the process, she accidentally lit herself on fire. She was later taken to McLaren Oakland Hospital for treatment of second-degree burns.

Setting your vehicle and yourself on fire due to bugs being in your car is rather counter-productive and rather dangerous for all concerned.

And as soon as she gets done with her taxpayer-provided medical treatment, she'll get a reality show or youtube channel like the woman who put glue in her hair.

ML: I half expect she'll go for the big pockets and sue the car manufacturer.

After all, there's no warning notice that states not to pour alcohol in your vehicle and light it on fire.
