Ferry Flight Return

We got a call that the work had been done. So again Eric and I volunteered to go to Flint and bring the planed back.

It was a beautiful day for a short ferry flight to bring the planes back to Pontiac after getting some avionic improvements in Flint.

All the work was done including protected avionic master switches to prevent pilots from inadvertently turning it off in rough air as the switch is close to the GPS screen and two pilots did manage to hit the switch so we wanted to prevent that from happening again.

Fall colors look great from the air.

Entered the downwind to 27R and then made a great crosswind landing.

A nice quick flight followed by a great landing.

Funny How That "Experiment" Only Went One Way

A fake polling organization was caught faking polling data that directly has influenced the Midterm elections.

The fake poling data all just so happened to be tilted in favor of progressive Democrats, including Abdul El-Sayed here in Michigan, and in Texas, Mississippi, Georgia, Maine and Ohio.

When caught, the company now says it was all just a "social experiment" to show how easily it is to put junk data in polling aggregators reports.

All of the junk and manipulated data just happened to be in 100% in favor of progressive Democrats. Funny how that works, eh?

The Washington Times: Bogus polling firm admits to fake numbers favoring Democrats, claims ‘experimental project’

If you really believe that Wedgewood Polling's actions was a social experiment and not an operation to influence public opinion and help the Democrats, and especially progressive Democrats . . .

Well, if you do, you have the words "Gullible Idiot"  written on your ceiling - and you just looked up to check, didn't you?

Dawn Maintenance Flight

A quick flight this morning to take the planes to the Avionics shop in Flint to get some work done.

Got to the airport while it was still dark, did the preflight on the Archer and Eric came out and did his preflight on the Dakota.

By the time the preflight was complete, dawn was breaking and it was a beautiful morning to fly.  Dawn was good as the landing light on the Archer is currently INOP pending a replacement, so it would have sucked to land without it.

Winds were calm, with some light mist at ground level.

Took off and headed to Flint VFR.

Talked to Great Lakes Approach once out of Pontiac's airspace, got the squawk code and  was first told to enter a downwind for Runway 18.

This then got changed to enter a base turn Runway 27 - oh, and to watch out for the mower at the end of the runway.

There was still a good layer of mist at Flint so making out the airport from the sky was harder than it should have been,  as the runways and environs were all covered looked fuzzy and hard to see, but I found it and I got lined up on the runway nicely and did a nice approach. Yes there was indeed a mowing machine right at the runway arrival end.  I then did a well-nigh perfect landing.

Taxi'd to the avionics shop and shut down the plane, met up with Eric and the avionics guy and went over the issues to be addressed, and then we got a ride back to Pontiac from Eric's wife who had driven up in her truck.

As usual, driving is more dangerous than flying. We almost got sideswiped by an idiot in the left lane who decided to try and merge into the side of the truck. Then once warned off by the horn, the driver then proceeded to have his right tires over the line for a couple miles and still not get out of the left lane.

With any luck, the avionics will be updated in a couple days and we will have to pick them up and return them to Pontiac.

That 0.5 and a truly excellent landing and a great way to start a day.

Gangster Government, Much, Senator?

Senator Elissa Slotkin (D) just made a public threat against young people  considering working for the Trump administration:

New York Post: Sen. Slotkin urges Dems to use prosecution to make young people afraid to serve in Trump admin

Slotkin (D-Mich.), a former CIA analyst, contended that Democrats must “go after” and make examples out of officials in President Trump’s orbit who engage in corruption to send a message to young people who may want to join the administration.

“I want young people coming out of school to say, ‘Should I go work for the Trump administration? That sounds fun, I might get an opportunity,’” Slotkin mused at a University of Chicago event last week that has since gone viral.

“I want them to be like, ‘Lord, that might be buying myself a ton of problems I don’t want, and so let me avoid participating in that,’” the senator went on. “I want that deterrence message sent.”

Surely using prosecution as a political weapon could never come back to haunt anyone?

Senator Slotkin now states she is being criticized for this intimidation because she's a woman.

No, Senator. The problem is the message itself: threatening people with “a ton of problems” to discourage them from working for an administration you oppose.

That's playing with fire.

Alberta's Choice: Should I Stay Or Should I Go?

The Canadian province of Alberta is holding a referendum today on raising the question of separating from Canada.

After being used as a funding source by the eastern elites because of the province's oil, especially by the Liberal Party.  Albertans have not exactly getting much in the way of gratitude back nor much say in how the country is going, and a lot of Albertans are fed up with confederation.

So far, exit polls show leaving to be leading - and an affirmative result will lead to a second vote on actually leaving.

Will Liberal PM Carney and the Liberals accept the results of the referendum?

Will Alberta actually vote to leave Canada?

We shall see.

CFB Wainwright Tragedy

A serious tragedy in Alberta, Canada occurred last night at Canadian Forces Base Wainwright.

CFB Wainwright is a very large training base for the Canadian Forces and NATO with lots of room for maneuvering and exercises.

The most recent live fire exercise there has resulted in a major tragedy.

Global News: At least 7 dead, dozens injured in explosion and fire at CFB Wainwright: Sources

An explosion, whose origin is not yet confirmed, possibly from an errant munition hitting a gas well or gas pipeline during a live fire exerciser, then caused a rapidly moving grass fire fueled by 60 mile per hour winds.

The fire killed seven soldiers and wounded dozens more.

Medical reinforcements were sent in by parachute drop to the site and nearby hospitals have initiated mass casualty protocols.

In short, it is a terrible tragedy and we'll likely know more as to what occurred.

For now, here's to hoping the fires are brought under control, and the wounded make as full and complete recoveries as possible.

Hamtramck: Found Votes Push The Democrat Candidate To Victory

The mayoral race in 2025 led to a victory for the Republican candidate for mayor, Adam Alharbi - by an 11 vote margin in Hamtramck, a Muslim majority city on Wayne County.

Then 37 absentee votes that had been "overlooked" were  conveniently found in the clerk's office.

The Court has now ordered them to be counted and applied to the results, even as the chain of custody of these discovered ballots is questionable at best.

The Detroit Free Press: After 37 votes counted, Hamtramck ex-councilman leads 2025 mayoral race

The votes now counted put the Democrat challenger, Muhith Mahmood  ahead by 12 voted.

Funny how that works.

All is not lost however, there's a separate court challenge and investigation alleging that Muhith Mahmood does not actually have residency in Hamtramck as is required.  This may very well disqualify him.

A sudden discovery of votes that just happen to put the Democrat in the lead seems to be an ongoing theme, and it is a theme that really needs to stop, as it certainly raises doubts as to the validity and fairness of elections.

Even in Detroit, Those Are Not Standard Commands

The Detroit Free Press: Detroit police bodycam video shows officer chase, shoot man in back

This is a likely lawful but ugly police defensive shooting of a fleeing armed felon.

It really doesn't help when the officer's command to stop and drop the weapon is not "Stop and Drop the Weapon!" but instead is:

“I’m ‘bout to shoot you, b–ch,” repeatedly, Detroit police body camera video shows.

“B--ch, come here b--ch, I’m ‘bout to shoot you, I’m ‘bout to shoot you, I’m ‘bout to shoot you b–-ch, I’m ‘bout to shoot you, b–-ch, “I’m ‘bout to –”

Yep that's a very non-standard string of commands that end in: Bang.

Officer David Gonzalez fires four times, hitting the 18-year-old in the back as he runs through a downtown parking lot before the June 22 Ford Fireworks event, Gonzalez’s body camera footage obtained by the Free Press shows. Lee-Perkins survived.
Police have said Lee-Perkins’ hands made him look armed and that Gonzalez fired because he feared for his safety and the safety of others.

Even in Detroit, these are not appropriate commands to give to an armed fleeing felon and they really didn't help in the matter.

Yes, the felon in question was indeed, illegally concealing a firearm in his waistband and likely reaching toward it at the time.  He fled from police while armed, and he got shot in what appears to be a furtive movement shooting.  However, police and indeed armed civilians are held to a better standard than saying "B--ch, come here b--ch, I’m ‘bout to shoot you" as a defensive command.

Parisian Gay Chickens For KFC

Gays in Paris are apparently calling for, checks notes, Sharia Law.

This could be because they have ignored all the evidence as to what Islam and Islam's adherents thinks about gay people, and mistakenly conflated the idea that since Islam is against Western Civilization and capitalism, it must be an ally.

In short they fell for the canard that "The enemy of my enemy is my friend".

Not so much. Often the enemy of your enemy is just your enemy's enemy, and nothing more.

In this case based on past and present performance it's their enemy too.

Gays in Paris are calling for Islam and want to live under Sharia. They believe Islam is the only progressive religion and that it will help them dismantle capitalism. This will not end well.

Funny how they eschew western civilization with its ideas of tolerance that have allowed them to thrive, to jump into the embrace of a far less tolerant socio-religio ideology.

I can't wait until they really find out how Islam feels about gays. I expect they'll be welcomed with open arms....dropping them off rooftops.

The Stupid, It Burns

During the rioting in France a viral video of a "Youth" rioter (read Muslim teen) blasting a French woman in the face with a homemade flamethrower got quite a bit of attention.

The Sun.com: FRANCE IN FLAMES Horror moment rioter blasts woman’s face with flamethrower as violent protests grip France with almost 2,000 arrested

The quite violent act  is now being defended by some leftist women as being not serious and noticing the violence is harmful to the immigrant community.

Indeed, they argue it is so not serious that they've decided to do TikToks blasting themselves with homemade flamethrowers made from spray cans and a lighter to show how not serious it is.

This worked out as well as you might predict for them:

Stupid is supposed to hurt, but seriously, that's one heckuva hill to self flame on.

Rather amazing that they don't defend or feel much for the woman that was attacked (so much for sisterhood and all that) but are all in for the violent migrant "youths".   Suicidal empathy indeed.

Final Ride Of The CT-114

The Canadair CT-114 Tutor has been a jet trainer that entered service in the Royal Canadian Air Force, then with the Canadian Forces in the 1960s.

The Tutor is the jet used by the Snowbirds Demonstration team, the 431 Air Demonstration Squadron, ever since the formation of the team. They use them to put on one heckuva stunning, nine-jet strong, demonstration of skilled acrobatic and formation precision flying.

Until now.

The last airshow featuring the Canadian Forces Snowbirds flying the CT-114 took this past weekend at the California Capital Air Show.

It is the end of an era.

The Tutors are being retired due to age, and the Snowbirds are standing down, ending their era of flying jets.

The jets will be replaced by CT-157 Siskin (Pilatus PC-21) prop trainers.

The Snowbirds will not be fully re-equipped and returning to the air show circuit until at least 2030.

Now I Need This Shirt

The only downside to the entire trip was the very close encounter with TSA.

I mean a very, very, close encounter.

I have to do the body scanner due to the hip replacement as I set off the metal detector about 80% of the time, causing issues and untoward excitement.  As such, I just opt in to do the body scan to save a lot of hassle.

This time even opting in, I got the hassle.

While in line, I saw the TSA agent doing a very thorough groin area search on a guy ahead of me in line.

Didn't think much of it and continued in the line.

For the first time ever, when I walked through the scan stated it didn't work.

I walked through again, and it showed a red square at my groin area. Funny, that.  Was the machine malfunctioning or was someone marking off that area to be funny or what? Not so funny is what happened next.

I will note I was wearing cloth shorts where the only metal was the very thin zipper on it and I was wearing normal (and clean, thank you very much) underwear at the time that I have worn through security lots of times in the past.

So I got a very, very, thorough groin area check that was quite a bit much for a first date, without the agent even offering to buy me dinner first. You might say things got handled.

No, there was indeed nothing prohibited there, just ahem, me.

I now need this shirt:

Back From Florida

Spent the weekend in Gainesville visiting the younger heir.

Arrived after a nice Delta flight (one day I do need to fly myself there for the fun of it) and drove to meet her.

Picked her up and we headed to lunch at Liquid Ginger.

Excellent sushi.  Really good, and it hit the spot after the drive in from Jacksonville.

On Saturday, we went to the Gators/Gamecocks football game.

A sold-out crowd, on Homecoming weekend no less, assembled to watch the Gators win as they were projected to do and the crowd was fired up accordingly.

Sadly this expected hometown win didn't happen.

It was quite a game day environment: Overcast with some sun peeking through on occasion, enough to get a sunburn, and the joy of 100% humidity and on top of a delay of game due to lightning within 8 miles of the field,

Two shorts bursts of torrential rain and a 30-minute rain delay didn't help things either, nor did the delay give the Gators a chance to recombobulate and come back from their terrible on-field performance.

The Gators lost, and lost badly 38-19. The Homecoming crowd was not pleased.

Still a fun time out with the kid, and great to catch up on what she is up to, and see how she is doing.

After some rest we had dinner out and then on Sunday met up for breakfast.

I then took her food shopping for necessary supplies, as one does, dropped her back at her apartment, helped her unload the shopping, and then headed back on the road to Jacksonville to head back home.

Even with the Gator defeat, ending my record of 100% wins when I'm at a Gator Football game, it was still a great weekend.

Of Course He Did

Fox News: Abbas delays Palestinian elections again, making more than two decades without vote

Abbas issued a decree Friday pushing Palestinian Legislative Council elections from next month to Sept. 11, 2027, according to the official Palestinian news agency WAFA. Presidential elections, which have not been held since Abbas' 2005 victory, are also scheduled for that date.

Mahmoud Abbas is now in the twenty-second year of his four-year term as President of the Palestinian Authority.

Yep, read that again, I'll wait.

Looks like he's now going for twenty-three years plus.

There have been no PA elections since 2005.

We can also note that there has not been an election in Gaza since 2006 when Hamas won and there has been no desire for an election, much less a free and fair one, there either.

Very much the standard practice of Muslim "Democracy":  Democracy is like a train - when you get where you want, you get off.

We will note this is in direct contravention of the assurance he gave to Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and to French President Macron that he would hold an election in 2026 return for France and Canada recognizing the rather non-existent Palestinian state. Credulous fools and useful idiots, they.

The Same People

That say a woman's hormonal changes are responsible for her postpartum depression and subsequently killing her kids, are also advocating for pumping mentally ill people full of hormones to change their sex and then celebrate them as stunning and brave.

Leading to similar outcomes:

The New York Post: Trans killer blames transition for stabbing hiker 15 times on trail: Victim was ‘what I want to look like’ as one of many examples.

Consistency is not their forte, is it?

Sayed, Lies, And Videotape

Abdul El Sayed has a truth problem.

Namely, he can't tell the truth.

In the latest El Sayed, after may times saying and writing that he was an Egyptian citizen in addition to being an American citizen, he now says he was mistaken about that and he's only been and American, trust him.

Washington Free Beacon: EXCLUSIVE: Video Shows Abdul El-Sayed Stating He Has ‘Dual Citizenship’ in Egypt and US

He also had it on his resume.

You see, claiming to be an Egyptian citizen gives him street cred among the left and Islamists.

However, being an Egyptian citizen while also supporting the Muslim Brotherhood and its acts of repression in Egypt, supporting the Iranian Regime and sympathizing for terrorists doesn't tend to go over well (yet) in mainstream America.

So he's now stating he's been "mistaken" for years claiming to be an Egyptian citizen.  That he claims he did he not know if he was or is  a citizen of Egypt, especially when he had visited that country on multiple occasions is rather less than credible.

Townhall: Abdul El-Sayed Made a Stunning Admission About His Citizenship

A very calculated and self-enhancing "mistake" indeed, Abdul El-Sayed is whoever he wants to be depending on his audience at the time.

When You Have To Call In For Support From The SCOAMF

Things may not be going as well for the Abdul El-Sayed Campaign for Senate as the Democrats and Media would have you believe.

JI:  Obama to campaign with Abdul El-Sayed at rally with Michigan Dems

The Democrats are pulling out the star power in Obama to shore up El Sayed's campoaign.

Part of this is due to El Sayed having a less than enthusiastic reception among Michigan Blacks. Michigan Blacks are the Democrats core constituency, so this is a problem.

Part of the reason for this less than enthusiastic reception is the rather well-known animus that Arabs in the area have for Blacks, which a few days ago made headlines:

The Midwesterner: Detroit car crash sparks tensions between Black and Arab communities as Abdul El-Sayed straddles divide

Tensions between Detroit’s Black and Arab communities are on edge after a mob of Arab men harassed a Black woman following a car crash earlier this month.

The incident occurred near the intersection of Paul Street and the Southfield Freeway, where an Arab woman reportedly ran a red light and hit a vehicle driven by a Black woman on Sept. 15, WJBK reported.

Following the collision, a mob of Muslim men descended on the scene, where they pushed the Arab woman’s vehicle away and looted the Black woman’s totaled vehicle, allegedly stealing her purse and yelling racial slurs as a Black man attempted to intervene, according to video posted online.

Two major parts of the Democrat "Big Tent" (in reality a squabbling mass of competing and contradictory interests) are having a tiff at a most inopportune time for El Sayed.

Indeed large portions of his part of the tent tends to refer to that other portion as Abeed, so there's that.

So, El Sayed is bringing in the Lightbringer to try and get the Blacks to forget last month, and all history and problems before, and vote Blue No Matter Who.

We will see if it works.

Media Euphemisms To Obscure Reality Continued

The Detroit News has decided to fall in line in regards to the politically correct guidelines to describing the homeless.

They're no longer homeless.

They're now unhoused.

This particular batch of "unhoused" are now unalived, to use another euphemism.

The Detroit News: Pattern emerges in deaths of unhoused men on Lansing River Trail

Attention in the capital city has turned toward violence on the Lansing River Trail this month after the Lansing State Journal first reported five unhoused men have died after being severely injured along the trail in the last year and the similarities in the cases in September.

As the "unhoused" tend to be rather exposed and live unhealthy lifestyles, often suffer from mental and physical ailments, as well as drug usage that leave them less than healthy and in contact with unsavory characters including each other, they often get unalived whether by misadventure or unjustified homicide.

Institutionalizing the mentally ill doesn't just protect innocents from them, it also protects them from themselves and others.

In any case they're homeless, not "unhoused".

Ah, Une Vraie Riot

As noted by Eaton Rapids Joe extensive rioting is going on in France, with Leftists and Muslims joining forces to burn schools, buildings, and yep, people --including a fireman set on fire.

We now have on display a real Riot from the Riote Region of France.

Remember, if it is not from there, its not a riot -- it's just a "Fiery But Peaceful Protest".

Two-Tier DUI Justice In Arlington Virginia

If you're an American in Arlington Virginia, expect to get the full-on punishment and record for driving under the influence, which after all you should because you should not be drunk driving.

But, If you're an illegal under DACA driving under the influence, expect to get a lesser punishment and more favorable treatment to protect you from deportation.

The Post Millenial: DACA recipients charged with DUIs get special treatment from Arlington Commonwealth's Attorney to shield them from immigration law

It has been revealed that the Commonwealth’s Attorney for the County of Arlington in Virginia testified over the summer that her office has a DUI policy that pertains only to DACA recipients. Commonwealth’s Attorney Parisa Dehghani-Tafti had been subjected to a closed-door deposition in July, and the transcript for the hearing was released on Monday.

That gets the DUI off their record - which gives them a nice privilege that Americans do not get.

The other "feature" of such a program is if they get caught a second time its still a first conviction, and not a DUI second conviction, which typically has a higher punishment than being caught only once - assumign they don;t dicvert it yet again.

Got to wonder how many other blue counties have these kind of special programs that put illegals ahead of Americans and give them ore favorable status.
