Democrats Becoming The Party Of Terrorism?

Jane's Law says it well: “The devotees of the party in power are smug and arrogant. The devotees of the party out of power are insane.” 

When five out of eight arrested terrorists in a single case are not just progressives but full fledged members of the Democratic party, it certainly constitutes evidence that the Democrats, the party out of power, has indeed gone insane, or at least back to their historic roots.

Well, Democrats are currently busy supporting Hamas, Hezbollah, the Mullahs of Iran, BLM, and any other anti-American group they can find so it's really not a reach for the party membership to get hands-on, now is it?

Terrorist Supporters Adopt A Road

Right along the way where, just a few months ago, a Hezbollah affiliated terrorist did a vehicle ramming attack at Temple Israel, a group that was until now unknown has apparently "adopted a road" and got the Road Commission to put up these signs:

 

Purely an attempt to intimidate, with the sign being placed right in the central area of the Jewish community here, right by a synagogue that had recently been attacked by an Arab terrorist.

There is no filed assumed name for the group in Oakland County, nor is there a state-level entity actually formed on record for this group. It does not legally exist as an organization.

We will have to see if the "group" whoever they are,  ever show up to do the required twice per year cleanups as required for this propaganda stunt.  My bet is they're not showing up as simply getting the signs up was the point.

So, in addition to the myriad of potholes, it seems we may now need to worry about IEDs on this stretch of road.

Update:  The signs were taken down as of this morning (Monday June 15) and the Oakland County Road Commission is promising to review its "process" as to how the signs were ever approved to be issued and placed in the first place to a non-existent group. 

Three Attacks. Three States. Democrats Still No On DHS Funding.

And all six Democrat senators from these states have uniformly continued to refuse to vote for funding the Department of Homeland Security.

Biden has no hesitation making unsubstantiated allegations in other situations, even when he's shown to be wrong later. But, when there's plenty of evidence and its a Muslim attack on Jews he doesn't want to make any conclusions and suddenly lacks sufficient information.

Yes, it's an actual quote from Biden and the President can be watched saying it on Twitter.

Interesting Reactions To Events, Aren't They?

Mr. B of In The Middle Of The Right sent me a link in the comments to the Daily Mail a newspaper with some very good coverage of the Texas Synagogue attack and the reaction among the terrorist's fellow adherents back in Ol' Blighty, who while many are now British subjects, are no exactly what you'd first think of when the stereotypical British subject come to mind.

Of course it's blamed on the attackers "mental health" and his family are condemning the crime but of course throwing some nice and false moral relativism in:

'Obviously our priority will be to get him back to the UK for his funeral prayers although we have been warned it could take weeks.

'We would also like to add that any attack on any human being be it a Jew, Christian or Muslim etc is wrong and should always be condemned.

Nice relativism and cute deflection there.

I will note she has yet to make any correction to her inane statement nor to specifically condemn Islamic Terrorism.

Hostage Situation At Synagogue In Texas

So an Islamic terrorist, allegedly Muhammad Siddiqui who is demanding release of his sister Aafia Siddiqui who is sentenced on terror charges for 86 years for trying to kill US Military and FBI agents in Afghanistan who is being held in a federal jail inn Texas.

There's also a Michigan connection to this sotry.  The Rabbi currently being held hostage with some of his congregants grew up in Lansing Michigan and was in the same Jewish youth group as my own Rabbi and they're good friends. It's a small world.

Praying and hoping the situation is resolved and the hostages are all released unharmed. 

Update:  FBI's Hostage Rescue Team performed a dynamic entry and the terrorist is now dead and all hostages are freed.  

Knife Attack On A German Train: Don't Mention The I-Word

As one imagines, the motive will likely never be known and is terribly unclear.

The train, one of Germany’s high-speed ICE trains, was traveling between the Bavarian cities of Regensburg and Nuremberg at the time of the attack. A spokesperson for the Bavarian Red Cross, which had 110 responders at the scene, said the organization processed three “severely injured” people.

A 27-year-old Syrian man was arrested in Seubersdorf, where the train stopped after the attack, Bavarian state police told The Associated Press. The injured people came from the Regensburg and nearby Passau areas, state police said.

Interior Minister Horst Seehofer said the background behind the “terrible” attack was “still unclear.”

When It Takes 7 Paragraphs To Get To The Lede . . .

You might just have a little media bias showing.

It take 7 paragraphs into the story to get to the point that the killer was a Muslim and the mass murder was a probable act of terrorism, and  8 paragraphs to get to the point that he was known by the Norwegian police to be "radicalized", you may be trying to hide something.

Especially so when you get a dig at "right-wing domestic extremist" in the fourth paragraph.

Interestingly, an Islamist with a bow and arrow was able to simply walk around downtown Koningsberg and kill five people with alack of interference while doing so.

No calls so far for banning bows and arrows - yet.

California Orange County mass shooting- Hispanic

Capitol Attack - Black and member of the Nation of Islam

Hardly an array of right-wing extremists there. Each time, of course, the leftists jump on Twitter and elsewhere and proclaim it must have been the work of white supremacist males, or Trump supporters, or something similar, until the facts came out, and then it fades rapidly from the news, except for a call for more gun bans.

That must be disheartening.  

Now, I'm sure at some point some loser white-supremacist type will crawl out of his mother's basement and do something stupid. At which point the left will dance in the blood and proclaim "right-wing extremism" to be the most pressing issue of our times, ignoring all the left-wing violence and Islamist violence.

But until then, the lefties would be better off waiting for the facts to come out before beating their white male extremist drum.

Tlaib Tweets On NJ Attack Blaming The Victims

Ace of Spades (who should have been in more blogroll for a long time and I've now corrected that oversight) notes that Representative Tlaib stupidly tweeted that the murder of Jews and a Police officer by two Black anti-Semites in New Jersey was a case of "White supremacy kills".

She then deleted the tweet, but the Internet is forever.

Classy as usual there, Tlaib.

While you may think this was an example of how dumb Tlaib is, after all the killers were Black Supremacists, not White Supremacists, but in my opinion being simply stupid isn't what Tlaib was doing at all.

In my opinion Tlaib knew exactly what she was posting as it fits a long track record of leftists and Arabs blaming the Jews for a tragedy even when Jews are the victims.

Hence, in the leftist and Arab worldview, Jews, being considered by the leftists and Arabs to be White, and Jews are thus White supremacists who are clearly at fault for this act of terrorism by existing. Yes the actual White Supremacists are probably choking on this lefty theology, but it is what it is.

After all, who are the only White people involved in this act of Terrorism? The Jews and the police officer who was shot prior to their attacking the Kosher supermarket.

In short and again in my opinion, Tlaib's tweet rather than being merely stupid was her deliberately playing to her anti-Semitic base in a language they're used to hearing in her District.

A Hero of Entebbe - Meeting Sassy Reuven

Last night I went to a presentation at Chabad House given by Sassy Reuven.

Who is Sassy Reuven you ask? One of the leaders that took part in the hostage rescue at Entebbe Uganda on July 4, 1976.

One of the most successful, and certainly one of the farthest ranged, hostage rescues in history, The Entebbe Raid was a major historical event and one of the turning points in fighting terrorism and aircraft hijackings.

An Air France Plane, set to fly from Tel Aviv to Paris with a stop in Athens Greece was hijacked by 2 Arab and 2 German Red Army Faction terrorists who were able to get weapons including handguns, grenades, and explosive by bribing Greek airport security.

The plane was first diverted to Libya and then flown to Uganda where the terrorists were joined by 3 more Arab terrorists and protected by the Ugandan army as the president of Uganda Idi Amin, had become very close to the terrorists after he broke off relations with Israel, after Israel had refused to give him fighter jets to attack Tanzania.

The non-Jewish passengers were released, but the Captain, Michel Bacos and crew of the Air France jet insisted on remaining with the Jewish hostages and not leaving any of their passengers behind. 94 Jewish passengers and 12 crew remained.

The terrorists were demanding $5 Million dollars and the release of terrorists held by Israel, France, and other countries.

The Israelis were able to formulate a plan to rescue the hostages and put it into action. Flying 2,400 miles from Israel, through hostile airspace they would land at the airport and rescue the hostages. To increase the deception, the first Hercules would be loaded with a Black Mercedes and two land rovers to look like Idi Amin's entourage as he had frequently visited the airport during the hostage situation.

4 C-130 Hercules with two carrying troops, a third with refueling equipment and the fourth setup as a hospital, and two Boeing 707s, one setup as a Command Center and the other as another hospital aircraft accompanies the formation. Flying at 30 feet above the Red Sea, they remained under Saudi and Egyptian radars, and once passing the Red Sea and the radars then climbed to 20,000 feet for the flight to Uganda.

Landing at 7 minute increments, the C-130s landed at the airport.

Sassy was in the first C-130 Hercules to land at Entebbe and the second man to touch the ground in Uganda, following Nehemiah Tamari, the commander of the paratrooper ground force towards the New Terminal. The job of his section of the paratroops' was to secure the New Terminal building as Sayaret Matkal freed the hostages in the Old Terminal. Other sections were to secure the runway, setup runway lights, and another Sayaret Matkal detachment would destroy the MiG-17 and MiG-1 fighters based at the airport to ensure the Ugandan Air Force could not engage the Israelis once they had left the airport.

The paratroopers secured the new terminal, having one man seriously wounded.

At the Old Terminal, the leader of the ground force, Yonatan Netanyahu, brother of Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu was killed, shot by Ugandan army soldiers shooting from the control tower.

The mission was a success however with all but 4 of the hostages rescued. 3 Of the hostages were killed during the rescue operation, and the fourth, 74 year-old Dora Bloch, who had been taken to a hospital in Kampala and was not at the airport during the raid, was killed days later on Idi Amins orders. All 7 terrorists were killed along with 45-50 Ugandan soldiers.

The entire operation on the ground lasted 53 minutes and the assault on the terminals lasted only 30 minutes.

Later immortalized in the Israeli movie Operation Thunderbolt and then in the the quite good Raid on Entebbe and then completely messed up by Hollywood in the recent 2018 film 7 Days In Entebbe that did its best to take the terrorist's point of view in the affair and turned an amazing historic hostage rescue it into a rather dull politically-correct bit of nonsense.

Meeting one of the heroes from the Entebbe hostage rescue mission was pretty impressive. Sassy Reuven was a very engaging speaker and gave a great talk combining facts humor and history into a riveting presentation. He spoke on both his and Israel's and Uganda's background before the hijacking, the hijacking itself, and then the planning and execution of the raid.

He's touring around the US speaking about the Entebbe hostage rescue, so if you get a chance to listen to him in person, it's well worth it.

The Case Of The Black, Queer Eye Of The Anti-Semitic Guy

In a rather ironic twist, the perpetrator of vandalism at a New York Synagogue where "Kill Al Jews" and "Die Jew Rats" was written this week, and the setting of fires at seven other Jewish institutions has been identified as a Democratic activist and former New York City Hall intern who worked on anti-hate crime issues.

He may have worked on them, but seems to have used his experience there as a how-to guide.

Interestingly, the arrest doesn't seem to be getting nearly as much play in the media compared to his acts of vandalism themselves, especially as it was blamed on the right side of the spectrum to gin up votes on Tuesday.

Shabbat, A Week After Pittsburgh

This Shabbat was a week after the attack in Pittsburgh.

Along with other synagogues around the USA, ours held a special service this Shabbat, appropriately hash tagged in this day of social media as #ShowUpForShabbat, both to show the community will not be intimidated and dissuaded from attending synagogue, but more importantly to together join in honoring and commemorating the eleven victims of the attack:

-Rose Mallinger, 97;
-Jerry Rabinowitz, 66;
-Cecil Rosenthal, 59;
-David Rosenthal, 54, (brother of Cecil);
-Bernice Simon, 84;

-Daniel Stein, 71;
-Melvin Wax, 88; and
-Irving Younger, 69.

Eleven memorial candles burned on the bima during the service.

We also said a prayer for healing of those injured in the attack and specifically named the brave officers wounded in responding to the attack:

Officers Daniel Mead, Michael Smidga, Anthony Burke and Timothy Matson all of whom were injured by gunfire as they attempted to stop the shooter at the synagogue.
Officer John Persin suffered a hearing injury, and Officer Tyler Pashel injured his knee during the incident.

May they all be swiftly healed.

There was a rather large turnout for a Shabbat morning service, and the sermon was very powerful in addressing that these kinds of attacks can happen as much as we did not believe they would, even here in the USA, as they have happened around the world. The sermon also was focusing on the need for good deeds and outspokenness to balance the evil of this attack and that these sort of attacks will not stop Jews being Jews and continuing to worship as we will.

A very meaningful singing by the congregation of God Bless America followed.

Toronto's Un-Possible Mass Shooting Likely A Terrorist Attack

One would think the idea of a mass shooting in Toronto is simply un-possible given the very strict gun control laws.

But, as most thinking people know, criminals aren't exactly known for obeying the law. On July 22, in the evening a man dressed in black opened fire on crowds and restaurants on the Danforth.

The Toronto Star: Danforth shooter identified as Faisal Hussain, 29, of Toronto, SIU says

The Danforth is a very nice strip of restaurants and cafes that is very pleasant to walk down and visit and probably has the best Greek food outside of, and potentially including Greece itself.

The shooter's name has now finally been released as Faisal Hussain, which is an improvement over the prior unidentified fair skinned 29-year old from Toronto. No Motive is yet being released, and considering he was randomly shooting at a whole bunch of people, killing 2 (an 18 year old female and a 10-year-old girl) and injuring 13, it is likely that Allahu Akbar, Arabic for "The motive will never be known" is the most probable cause. Considering the slow-walking of the identity of the shooter, it's rather probable. Expect details to continue to be slowly disclosed on this one.

On top of that, an attempt was made to stab a Canadian Forces soldier during the changing of the guard ceremony in Ottawa, but little detail has been released in that, while the suspect was captured but is still not being identified - Security forces stop man with knife on Parliament Hill.

Meeting The Only Pilot Who Successfully Stopped A Hijacking In-Flight

Last night I attended a presentation featuring Uri Bar-Lev.

Who is Uri Bar-Lev You ask?

Well, as the title of this post would suggest, he's the only pilot who has so far prevented a hijacking in flight.

Now 87 years old, Bar-Lev gave a great recounting of the events on September 6, 1970.

Sharing the stage with him was a passenger (left) who was a teenager on that flight, who gave a recounting of his experiences during the attempted hijacking.

Bar-Lev fought as a 16-year-old in the War of Independence and then in 1950 learned to fly, with the PT-17 Stearman as his first aircraft. After a stint in the Israeli Air Force, he went on to fly with El Al, Israel's Airline.

The 70's were quite a time for aircraft related terrorism. Bar-Lev noted that during his flying career with El Al, his planes had been the subject of 5 attempted bombings, and one attempted RPG attack, all in addition to the September 6 hijacking attempt.

The IATA's policy on hijackings in those days were the crew were to hold their passenger's safety as paramount and not resist the terrorists. This policy only changed some 30 years later.

On September 9, 1970 while preparing to leave from Amsterdam to New York, Bar-Lev and the crew of Flight 219, a Boeing 707, were alerted to two discrepancies - four passengers had shown up with tickets to be picked up. Two had passports from Senegal- that were in sequential order, but were to be seated separately and had acted as if they did not know each other. They were not allowed to board, and went on to successfully hijack Pan Am Flight 93.

The other two, a man and a woman on Honduran passports were "searched" by the Amsterdam police who did a rather cursory and insufficient job of it. Leila Khaled and Patrick Argüello had easily smuggled a handgun and two grenades on board. Khaled was a member of the PFLP and Argüello was a Sandinista. Terrorism had a very international and leftist flavor in those days.

As the pane reached 28,000 feet, the terrorists announced the hijacking, advanced on the locked cockpit door and pointed a gun at one of the cabin crew, demanding entry to the cockpit.

Uri Bar-Lev decided he wasn't going to let them hijack his plane. He had a sky-marshal in the cockpit with him, and told him to hang on.

Bar-Lev then put the plane into a diving maneuver, immediately dropping rapidly from 28,000 to 10,000 feet.

The maneuver caused Khaled to fall and pass out and she was apprehended by the second sky marshal on board, and the dive also disoriented Argüello who was immediately engaged by the sky marshal who left the cockpit as soon as Bar-Lev pulled out of the dive. Argüello before being killed managed to hit one of the cabin crew multiple times, seriously wounding him. Captain Bar-Lev decided to immediately land in London to get medical treatment for the crew member.

While these days Bar-Lev and his crew and sky marshals would receive a heroes' welcome for such a feat, in those days they feared being arrested by the British for shooting the terrorists. This was not an unfounded fear.

Just a short while before, in 1969 an Israeli air marshal named Mordechai Rachamim had engaged a group of terrorists attacking an El Al plane and killing the first officer in Zurich. After he jumped out of the airplane door under fire, he apprehended three of the terrorists and killed the fourth, he was arrested and the Swiss authorities put him on trial for manslaughter. Yes, really.

So Bar-Lev decided he didn't want his sky marshals arrested and speaking on the El Al internal frequency, had an EL Al plane aout to leave London hold on the tarmac. The sky marshals exited his plane by the rear maintenance door and boarded the other plane in the confusion, and were given tickets showing they were proper passengers. With no other evidence to the contrary, the British had to let them go.
