I suspect those protests had the desired effect: Whitmer extending stay-home order through May 15, relaxing boating, golf restrictions You can read the new executive order here: Executive Order 2020-59.
Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is extending her stay-at-home order through May 15, while lifting certain restrictions on businesses and outdoor activities.Under the new order, some Michigan businesses can reopen. Whitmer is allowing people to participate in outdoor activities such as golf and motorized boating as long as they observe social distancing rules to remain six feet apart, according to the executive order obtained by the Associated Press.
The unjustified and ham-handed restrictions on perfectly safe activities to show that she was in charge have now been lifted - lawn care and landscaping, golf, motorized boating, selling paint and garden shops and other "non-essential" items are now all permitted.
They never should have been prohibited to start with, as people could have done them perfectly safely with social distancing but she didn't like them and thus they were prohibited.
It will be interesting to see how she can justify removing these restrictions now -after all up until now she was claiming they all posed a grave threat to public health and safety in between sneering that the weather wasn't good enough to do them anyways so people shouldn't dare complain.

She'll just weasel-word her way out of any questioning about it......
Any thoughts on her legal authority to continue the order beyond the April 30th limit set by the legislature?
