The New York Times Whistles Past The Trend Of Leftist Political Violence

Today, in The New York Times The Morning Newsletter, the paper decided to discuss the attempted assassination of President Trump yesterday with this lovely example of willfully avoiding a discussion of Leftist violence.

The guests at the dinner included many whose lives had previously been affected by gun violence, including Trump, Erika Kirk and Representative Steve Scalise, who was shot at a congressional baseball game practice in 2017.

The New York Times blithely ignores the common theme in all of these acts of "gun violence" - the perpetrator in question was a leftist in each and every one:

President Trump's current attempted assassin was a progressive leftist from California, spouting Democrat talking points. The prior one in September 2024  in Florida was also from a  registered Democrat. The one before that in July 2024 in Butler, PA was yet another progressive.

Erika Kirk - Charlie Kirk, her husband, was, you guessed it, killed by a leftist.

Steve Scalise - shot by a Bernie Bro. 

Funny how the New York Times fails to both notice and not comment on this trend, but just waves it away with the canard of  "gun violence".

On Saturday night, authorities say 31-year-old Cole Tomas Allen stormed the lobby of the Washington Hilton armed with guns and knives and opened fire before being subdued by Secret Service agents. Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and several cabinet members were evacuated from the venue. 

Hours later, Minocqua Brewing Company of Minocqua, Wisconsin posted to its Facebook page: “Well, we almost got #freebeerday. Either a brother or sister in the Resistance needs to work on their marksmanship or he faked another assassination to get a positive news cycle. We’ll never know. Regardless, we stand at the ready to pour free beer the day it happens.”

The owner of  Minocqua Brewing Company is a Democrat operative and former state-level candidate and runs a Democrat state-level PAC.

Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel mocked President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump in a White House Correspondents' Dinner parody this week, calling her "an expectant widow" and joking about her marriage, just days before the dinner was disrupted by a shooting.

The Democrats have continued their tantrum and refusal to accept democratic norms since losing the election, and have continued to advocate for violence against their opponents ever since. 

The Democrats sure are Sowing the Wind, and it is more than high time that they stopped before this gets out of hand.

NBC News: Arrest made after shots fired at ABC affiliate in Sacramento

A 64-year-old man suspected of shooting into an ABC affiliate station in Sacramento was arrested Saturday, police said.

The Sacramento Police Department arrested Anibal Hernandezsantana after an investigation into a vehicle at the scene led them to a home in the 5400 block of Carlson Drive. He was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, shooting into an occupied building and negligent discharge of a firearm. 

Police spokesperson Anthony Gamble said it's unclear how many shots were fired at the ABC10 building, but "it does appear at least three rounds did strike the building."

 Right after Jimmy Kimmel gets fired for lousy viewer ratings and lousier views, the left lashes out.

Meanwhile, over 90 Democrats in the House are unable to condemn political violence with 58 voting against the irresolution and 38 chickening out and  abstaining. 

Yet again the violence is coming form the Left, and the leaders of the Left refuse to condemn it.

Stupid and Evil both. 

Update:  In an example of the left's stupidity once again, and that of the leftist California justice system, Anibal Hernandezsantana was released on bail. He was then thankfully re-arrested by the FBI as the state justice systme had left him free to do it again.

The Left Continues To Be Mostly Peaceful

That is, if you read "Mostly Peaceful" as in "Engaging in Violence". 

The Detroit News:  10 held in Texas immigration detention center shooting that was 'planned ambush,' US attorney says

Note that the was a very organized attack on law enforcement officers with a planned attempted ambush by art least ten black-clad attackers. 

The second attack was likely a solo leftist who traveled all the way from Michigan to Texas, but may potentially have been supported in doing so.

The far-left is continuing to engage in organized violence, and they have the infrastructure in place to do so. 

With Leftist prosecuting attorneys to help ensure charges are dropped or reduced after arrest,  NLG lawyers on call, Mayors supporting their efforts, and lots of funding from leftist billionaires, as well as practice from their riot actions, the Left has both an experienced cadre and adherents that are both well organized and well funded with an array of professionals on hand.

While those on the right tend to state they have all the guns, those on the right tend to not engage in organized violence.  They are often are instead busy with work and family life, and unlike the Left there is no extant right wing infrastructure to support acts of organized violence like Antifa and the NLG. 

The Left is really good at turning the rheostat to increase and decrease violence at a whim and they get away with it quite a lot - and these latest terrorist actions on their part is the result of the tolerance and support they've received for lower-level violence they;ve engaged in and got a pass for.

So This Makes Sense To Them

Let's see if we get this straight: 

The rioters are rioting against being deported from the USA.

They are rioting because they do not want to be deported back to the country whose flag they happen to be proudly waving around at the riots.

So they proudly wave a Mexican flag around while they burn cars, burn American flags, and assault police officers to protest their being deported back to Mexico after being here illegally, from Mexico.

 This apparently makes perfect sense.

Why You Don't Intervene In Other People's Fights

You may be dealing with more than you can handle.

By all reported accounts, Rashawn Bryant was a very decent fellow who unfortunately intervened in the wrong fight at the wrong time at a tailgate event at the Eastern Market in Detroit.  

He apparently saw two men arguing at the tailgate and seemingly about to exchange blows, and then apparently tried to step in to stop or deescalate the fight.  Unfortunately, what he thought was going to be a fist fight turned into a gun fight.

The story was first reported as a shooting where the shooter had pulled a firearm and shot without justification:

It now turns out the shooter was determined to have been justified in doing so, as the other person in the fight had escalated the situation and pulled and pointed a firearm at the shooter before the shooter drew his own firearm and shot the attacker:

Sadly, that single round traveled through the attacker and also hit Rashawn Bryant as well, killing them both.  

It's a tragedy on multiple levels.  

We still don't know what sparked the original fight between the two parties, but avoiding fights in the first place is always a very good idea, especially when carrying a firearm. It's also a sad reminder not to try and intervene in other people's fights as you likely don't know what is going on, nor where it can lead.

More Democrat Political Violence

The Guardian:  Michigan man kills himself after running over 80-year-old Trump supporter

A Michigan man suspected of using an all-terrain vehicle to run over an elderly man for supporting Donald Trump died by suicide as police closed in on him, according to authorities.

Police in Hancock – a city located in the state’s upper peninsula – said the man in question was under investigation for allegedly running over an 80-year-old man at about 5.45pm local time on Sunday.

The elderly man was described as a supporter of the former president who was posting a political sign in his yard, according to police. Police also said he displayed stickers and flags that were supportive of law enforcement. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition with serious injuries after the man on the ATV struck him, authorities said.

Investigators said they had identified a suspect in the case by Monday evening, and he had been linked to a total of three cases which were apparently “politically motivated”.

A little impulse control and handling disputes without violence would be nice.  On the upside, the scumbag spared taxpayers the cost of a trial by offing himself. 

The Irony Of Detroit Gun Violence Interventionists

In the Detroit Free Press, there's an article about a rally against gun violence, as they are of course blaming guns for criminal's actions and the fact that criminal violence and assaults, often over trivial matters are very much on the rise in the D.

It's mostly pay-walled, but the photos accompanying the article are not.

The irony of course is because of one of the featured speakers depicted in the article:

Sam Riddle talking against gun violence.

The very same Sam Riddle who himself was sentenced to two years for firing off a shotgun in a "simple dispute" - being caught in bed with another woman by his "live in companion" and then shooting at his companion with a shotgun.

So yes, Sam Riddle would surely know all about inappropriately using guns during a simple dispute. 

In the D, even violent felonies, even involving firearms and violence against women - two things Democrats profess to be against - don't stop Democrat politicians from being considered respected (and of course paid) heads of Democrat organizations rather than placed beyond the pale for their actions.

You just can't make this up.

Finally, The Left Finds A Mostly Peaceful Protest They Don't Like

For the record, the riot yesterday that erupted out of the protest by Trump supporters at the Capitol was wrong, stupid, counterproductive, and will likely backfire badly.

However, it is not surprising some idiot elements of the Right have decided to adopt the tactics of the Left, and the hypocrisy of the Left and their statements about this riot are both laughable and disgusting.

Lest we forget, and the media and the Left would now indeed prefer you to forget, for the past four years, the Left decided that violence and riots are an acceptable tactic to achieve political goals. 

From the very start when Trump was sworn in, the violence began:

2018 Leftist anti-Kavanaugh protestors took over the Senate Office Building.

The left: Crickets, or statements of overt support.  Not surprising they don't want that event remembered today after the events of yesterday, neh?

2020 BLM and Anti-Trump Riots: ‘They Have Lost Control’: Why Minneapolis Burned, violence and rioting in multiple other cities, and in Portland a Federal Courthouse attacked repeatedly, vandalized to the tune of millions in damage, and set on fire, and US Marshals there were blinded with lasers and injured with fireworks, bricks, and other weapons.

The Left:  Statements of outright support, funding, and prosecutorial discretion to not charge protestors with crimes:

2020 Anti-Trump Protests and riots included burning a large portion of Washington DC:

The Left:  Crickets or a declaration that it is a mostly peaceful protest, and again statements of support.

The Left is now all morally indignant and pearl-clutching now that idiots on the Right have decided to agree with them that violence and riots are an acceptable form of political activity.  

Idiots on the Right yesterday then engaged in an unacceptable, yet far less ruinous riot than any that the Left has conducted over the past few years. After all, no buildings were burned, nor were any businesses looted yesterday.

The Left over the past four years failed to condemn and indeed gave support to political violence as it served their political goals.  They now face the prospect of political violence that does not suit their goals and they're getting a tad uncomfortable.

Violence in the pursuit of politics is an extremely bad road to be on, and the Left stupidly decided to get on it, and hopefully now both sides will look for an off-ramp.

For the Left to be in high dudgeon over the Right using their same tactics is laughable and the height of hypocrisy, but here we are. 

Once Biden is sworn in, expect the breathless declarations of the Left for these past four years that "dissent is the highest form of patriotism" to be quickly converted once again to any dissent is treason or sedition.

This simply affirms that if the Left didn't have double-standards, they would have none at all.

So, What Are The Odds?

Approximately, and the data seems to be hard to find,  1 in 50 Wisconsinites overall has a felony record.

So whats the odds that it turns out that all 3 of the attackers of Kyle Rittenhouse had felony records?

 

 One pedo sex offender, one felony domestic abuser, and one felony burglar.  Quite the trifecta.

For those of you wondering what the answer is, and what the odds actually are, well, per a statistics person I know who just communicated the answer to me, the odds are roughly 1 in 10,000.

The Thugs' Veto Strikes Again

So a scholarly article is fast going down the memory hole, not because it was false or lacked academic merit, but because people didn't like it enough to threaten violence over it.

Why did it work? Because people know the Left will in fact do violence when they make these kinds of threats.

The paper itself was pretty darned innocuous, arguing that colonialism had some benefits to the colonized, but of course its now rather hard to find a copy of it extant to argue for or against the author's claims in the paper and to see if its detractors had anything to substantiate their violence-inducing butt-hurt beyond having the word colonialism associated with some positive benefits.

After all, what did the Romans ever do for us?

Of course the thugs' veto, with its threat of violence is being justified by those on the left with the very peculiar theory that "speech is violence". Yes, his detractors actually claim his paper is "violence against their [the colonized] respective communities and cultures." Thus, once the Left has decided that speech, in this case written speech in a scholarly peer-reviewed article no less, is violence, the Left uses this leap of logic to justify threats of violence and actual violence as an appropriate response.

So far, as seen by the cringe-worthy and cowering retraction of the paper, it is working.

This can backfire on the Left rather badly, especially if the Right takes up this "speech is violence" idea and climbs onto the thugs' veto bandwagon.

Just imagine Universities being told:

Look, Communism has killed over 100 million people, Karl Marx's Communist Manifesto is therefore clearly violent speech and violence against "its victims respective communities and cultures", so any professor teaching it is clearly enabling and inspiring mass murder. If you continue to teach this violence at your university . . . . . .

Well, that's a lovely university you got here, too bad if something were to happen to it.

Political Violence In This Country Tends To Come From The Leftward Side

People were speculating when the Lefty types would switch from bats and bike locks to firearms and it looks like one Bernie Bro has decided to do so by attacking a bunch of Republicans playing baseball, including Majority Whip Steve Scalise.

The Left in America has quite a history of using violence as a political tool If you haven't already read the rather uber-post at Status 451 at the link, I'd strongly suggest you do so as its well worth your time and lets you place the Antifa and Bernie Bro Burners in context.

While many on the right say "What lefty revolution?, We have all the guns.", they forget the Left has far less compunction or hesitation about actually using weapons to implement their goals.

Hopefully, this is a one-off incident and not a sign of a trend on the part of the Leftist fringe.
