WTF Michigan Libertarian Party?

The Michigan Libertarian Party's Facebook page had quite the wtf post this past weekend:

Yep, that's some classic Anti-Semitic imagery to falsely imply Jews secretly control the government of the USA. One certainly would more expect this kind of post from the Democratic Socialists of America, and not a party touting themselves as libertarian.

This, of course, explains why Biden is withholding both intelligence information and weapons from Israel, right? Logic is hardly the anti-Semites strong suit, and so-called libertarians that are anti-Semites seem to have even less logic than most.

Yes,  that particular post was removed once it was called out.  But it was removed without any explanation or apology.  I halfway wonder if the poster is the same anti-Semitic dipstick who posts plenty of anti-Semitic stuff on Right Michigan.

But verily, both Michigan Libertarian Party's X and Facebook feeds are still quite the hive of scum, villainy, simplistic arguments, and indeed multiple posts full of anti-semitism and anti-Israel posts.

I daresay, Ayn Rand, Milton Friedman, Murray Rothbard, and Friedrich August von Hayek would be much disappointed in the Michigan Libertarian Party posting this garbage.

Another Reason Why The Libertarian Party Just Isn't Taken Seriously

They run candidates like these for office:

Yes, it's true the Libertarian Party's symbol should be changed to a white circle on a red background. After all they have a snowballs chance in hell of winning even if they ran a credible candidate and when they even fail to vet or run credible candidates . . . .

Well, that low chance of winning is compounded and reinforced when the candidates they do run are simply not credible - either ex-mental patients with a history of hijacking an aircraft, or recently the episode when their Party Chairman decides to let it all hang out and run around naked on stage during the party's presidential convention. Yeah, that inspires confidence.

The image most people have of the Libertarian Party is that of a bunch of doctrinal college students hanging out in their parents' basements smoking weed, reading some Ayn Rand, and screeching "taxation is theft!" during a full moon.

Since you can push for legalizing marijuana with the Democratic party and tax cuts with the Republican Party it kinda makes their base of support rather thin.

Seriously, did no one think that running this guy was a bad idea and that somehow he wouldn't make the LP look even more of a joke and fundamentally unserious and incapable of winning an election than it is?

That's the Libertarian Party, having what should be the best political message - Freedom - and then consistently coupling it with the most inept and incompetent presentation, marketing, execution, and candidates.

Libertarians who Voted for Obama

And how has that decision been working out for you recently dear Obama-Libertarians??

Over at the Volokh Conspiracy, David Bernstein has a post on Libertarians and Obama. Fun comments ensue, including those form Libertarians that still posit that Obama is still a great choice for libertarians.

Unless you're a libertarian of the ideologial persuasion that the only way to reform the system and restore individual liberty is to have it come crashing down (It is true that Obama is doing a great job destroying America, no doubt about that), I don't think Obama can be construed in any way to be a libertarian choice.

It must have been hard to be so willfully ignorant during the campaign season, but come on, the blinders must have fallen off by now right? Right?
