Wayne County: Where Certain Anti-Gay Racists and Racial Supremacists And Segregationists Are Celebratred

I was told that celebrating out and out racists and racial supremacists and segregationists, as well celebrating anti-gay people was a bad thing [Quick note to readers: In fact, it is].

Indeed, I was under the rather strong impression that it is rather bad for governments to praise such individuals and groups that promote hate.

Detroit, Wayne County and multiple local governments from Wayne County have decided otherwise.

In short, out and out racism, anti-gay bigotry is just fine so long as it comes from the head of the Nation of Islam:

In attendance was the mayors of Eastpointe, Inkster, and Muskegon Heights, said Nuri Muhammad of the Nation of Islam, introducing them before Farrakhan's speech.

The chief of staff of Detroit City Council President Brenda Jones read a resolution in support of the group: "Almost 700,000 Detroiters are with you ... love the Nation of Islam."

Wayne County honored the Nation of Islam's newspaper, The Final Call, with a resolution that was featured in the convention program.

Apparently, promotion of racism, anti-homosexual, segregationist, and supremacist advocacy is all just fine and worty of praise when it comes from an African-American Muslim.

Conyers Gives A Lame Apology A Week Late

Congressman Conyers, who happily attended the Louis Farrakhan's racist speeches was shamed (or at least politically pushed) into an apology, and it only took a week.

After all, it's hard to explain why you don't walk out from a speech with multiple anti-white and Anti-Semitic statements. Of course, Congressman Conyers doesn't explain.

Conyers, who attended Farrakhan’s speech Friday night at Fellowship Chapel, issued a strong statement that distanced himself from the Nation of Islam leader’s remarks, which were blasted earlier this week by a Jewish civil rights group and others.

“Farrakhan made unacceptable racist, anti-Semitic and homophobic statements, which I condemn in the strongest possible terms,” Conyers said. “It was my expectation that Minister Farrakhan’s speech would focus on the many challenges facing the city of Detroit. In previous days, he had discussed efforts to revitalize our city by purchasing property and investing in blighted neighborhoods. Regrettably, he used this opportunity to promote views that have no place in civilized discourse.”

You'll note he didn't explain why he remained for such a speech filled with such uncivilized discourse, and he should be apologizing for lending scum like Farrakhan legitimacy rather than trying to apologize for Farrakhan's inexcusable conduct.

In Detroit, The Scum Rise To The Top

The Detroit City Clowncil really outdid itself by giving racist, anti-Semitic Louis Farrakhan a platform to broadcast his vile racist statements.

First Farrakhan went to a church run by the local NAACP bozo and gave quite the rousing anti-Semitic speech, with City Council members and Congressman John Conyers in attendance:

Attending Farrakhan’s speech were the pastor of the church, Rev. Wendell Anthony, who heads the Detroit Branch NAACP; U.S. Rep. John Conyers, a Democrat from Detroit; Detroit City Councilwoman JoAnn Watson, and other religious and political leaders.

At Fellowship Chapel in Detroit, Farrakhan railed Friday night against what he called “Satanic Jews” and the “Synagogue of Satan,” which he said controlled major institutions in the U.S. He also alleged that President Barack Obama “surrounded himself with Satan ... members of the Jewish community.”

Attending Farrakhan’s speech were the pastor of the church, Rev. Wendell Anthony, who heads the Detroit Branch NAACP; U.S. Rep. John Conyers, a Democrat from Detroit; Detroit City Councilwoman JoAnn Watson, and other religious and political leaders.

Farrakhan then beclowned himself by declaring that Kwame Kilpatrick's crimes would have been overlooked had he been white. As if.

Farrakhan then gave a rousing speech before an attentive Detroit city Council and got a nice resolution in his honor from property tax cheat councilwoman Jo Ann Watson:

Councilwoman JoAnn Watson presented Farrakhan with a testimonial resolution on behalf of the council after his speech.

That Detroit's churchmen and city councillors, and its senior Congressman for that matter attend, approve, and honor Farrakhan says all you need to know about Detroit's Democrat leadership.

its interesting how multiple media outlets are not reporting Farrakhan's Anti-Semitic outburst.

For example, The Huffington Post covers his speech and even had extensive coverage on his UFO theories and approval of Scientology, but cuts the quotes to eliminate any reference to Jews: Louis Farrakhan: Libya's Muammar Gaddafi Remains A Friend

Farrakhan, 77, visited Gaddafi in the 1980s and has since considered him a friend. He said that if Gaddafi is persecuted for crimes against humanity, the same should apply to former President George W. Bush for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. He also said the U.S. shouldn't intervene in Libya with an armed response.

"I'm warning you this is a Libyan problem, let the Libyans solve their problem," he said.

Farrakhan also said he expects that uprisings happening in the Middle East will soon come to the U.S. He mentioned Tunisia, Egypt and other countries but didn't offer specifics on his stance on the unrest, except to say that leaders should not attack innocent protesters.

Farrakhan's speech touched on a wide range of historic topics through the lens of the Nation of Islam, including several severe weather incidents and a history of Shriners and freemasons. He also spoke at length about Scientology; Farrakhan has recently embraced some concepts of the religion.

Farrakhan also spoke of the Nation's belief in UFOs and the belief that sightings are on the rise

A rather impoortant and newsworthy element of the speech is completely glossed over now isn't it?

Clutch magazine, the proclaimed online magazine for urban Black women (a very strange site indeed, talk about a tour through the looking glass) similarly cuts his quotes to remove any antisemitic references.

The more mainstream Chicago Sun-Times similarly cut the quotes to avoid any reference, as did the Chicago Tribune. For that matter neither did the Detroit News report on the statements as it relied on an AP feed that similarly removed any references.

Gaddafi funneled Farakhan and the NOI millions if not billions of dollars from his oil revenues, and that loss will sting.

In addition, in 1996 Gadaffi gave Farrakhan the coveted Al-Gaddafi International Prize for Human Rights which came with a $250,00.00 award. Reading the list of winners, this prize is an award that confirms the award recipient as either a human rights violator or a useful idiot, with the very occasional decent person thrown in for cover. Not too shabby huh?

In other words, Farrakhan was Gaddafi's bitch.

Farrakhan is continuing to try to protect his benefactor so the funds can keep coming his way.

Farrakhan also gave perhaps the understatement of the year in regards to the uprising in his speech at the NOI convention as a pathetic attempts to defend his meal ticket he said

no leader has been loved by 100 percent of his people.

Wow. After getting millions and millions of dollars from Gaddafi the best he can do in his favor is blame the Jews and do an underwhelming statement along the lines of "nobody's perfect" to protect his sugar daddy? Gaddafi got screwed on this investment.

So we can understand Farrakhan is upset that it looks like his Gaddafi-duck gravy train is coming to an end and he went looking for his convenient and popular scapegoat. Now he's gonna have to really work at it yet again to make the useful idiots think he's not an anti-Semite.
