The Detroit Free Press actually decently covers a case of self-defense with a firearm in Detroit:
59-year-old woman pulls gun on two men who approached her with weapon
According to Detroit police, the 59-year-old woman was stopped at 3 p.m. Monday at a traffic light at Santa Rosa and West Seven Mile Road when a 2002 red Ford Taurus bumped her vehicle. When the woman got out to inspect the damage, she was approached by the two young men — one with a weapon.Police said the woman, who has a concealed pistol license, pulled out a weapon. The men then ran back to their car and drove away. The woman was not injured.
Pretty much a perfect demonstration of a CPL-holder properly defending themselves with a firearm.
Amazingly for the antis and indeed contrary to the Freep's own dire predictions before CPL shall-issue reform was passed, there was no "blood in the streets", nor was there a "Wild West" - just a lady who was able to protect herself from what would likely have been a very dangerous if not deadly situation.
