Progressives Suddenly All About (Some) Effective Border Control

So, the Minneapolis anti-ICE and anti-Trump mostly peaceful protesters have setup barriers and blocked roads in the city and are demanding and checking the ID of people entering those areas to keep ICE officers out.

Amazingly, the open border, pro-illegal immigrant, progressives have found the value in effective border walls, ID checks, and  the value of allowing residents of a territory being able to not allow entry to those who do not follow their rules and beliefs.

So This Makes Sense To Them

Let's see if we get this straight: 

The rioters are rioting against being deported from the USA.

They are rioting because they do not want to be deported back to the country whose flag they happen to be proudly waving around at the riots.

So they proudly wave a Mexican flag around while they burn cars, burn American flags, and assault police officers to protest their being deported back to Mexico after being here illegally, from Mexico.

 This apparently makes perfect sense.

Finally, The Left Finds A Mostly Peaceful Protest They Don't Like

For the record, the riot yesterday that erupted out of the protest by Trump supporters at the Capitol was wrong, stupid, counterproductive, and will likely backfire badly.

However, it is not surprising some idiot elements of the Right have decided to adopt the tactics of the Left, and the hypocrisy of the Left and their statements about this riot are both laughable and disgusting.

Lest we forget, and the media and the Left would now indeed prefer you to forget, for the past four years, the Left decided that violence and riots are an acceptable tactic to achieve political goals. 

From the very start when Trump was sworn in, the violence began:

The left: Crickets and the false "Russia, Russia, Russia" claims.

2018 Leftist anti-Kavanaugh protestors took over the Senate Office Building.

The left: Crickets, or statements of overt support.  Not surprising they don't want that event remembered today after the events of yesterday, neh?

2020 BLM and Anti-Trump Riots: ‘They Have Lost Control’: Why Minneapolis Burned, violence and rioting in multiple other cities, and in Portland a Federal Courthouse attacked repeatedly, vandalized to the tune of millions in damage, and set on fire, and US Marshals there were blinded with lasers and injured with fireworks, bricks, and other weapons.

The Left:  Statements of outright support, funding, and prosecutorial discretion to not charge protestors with crimes:

2020 Anti-Trump Protests and riots included burning a large portion of Washington DC:

The Left:  Crickets or a declaration that it is a mostly peaceful protest, and again statements of support.

The Left is now all morally indignant and pearl-clutching now that idiots on the Right have decided to agree with them that violence and riots are an acceptable form of political activity.  

Idiots on the Right yesterday then engaged in an unacceptable, yet far less ruinous riot than any that the Left has conducted over the past few years. After all, no buildings were burned, nor were any businesses looted yesterday.

The Left over the past four years failed to condemn and indeed gave support to political violence as it served their political goals.  They now face the prospect of political violence that does not suit their goals and they're getting a tad uncomfortable.

Violence in the pursuit of politics is an extremely bad road to be on, and the Left stupidly decided to get on it, and hopefully now both sides will look for an off-ramp.

For the Left to be in high dudgeon over the Right using their same tactics is laughable and the height of hypocrisy, but here we are. 

Once Biden is sworn in, expect the breathless declarations of the Left for these past four years that "dissent is the highest form of patriotism" to be quickly converted once again to any dissent is treason or sedition.

This simply affirms that if the Left didn't have double-standards, they would have none at all.

Some Self-Awareness That You've Been Fanning The Flames Would Be Nice

It's Wolf Blitzer folks, with a complete lack of understanding of causation and self-reflection:

Ya know Wolf, had you and yours not refused to accept the legitimacy of the 2016 election and been constantly characterizing the riots of the left as "mostly peaceful protests", we could be understanding of your sadness.

 Instead, you and yours have been busy excusing the leftist violent outbreaks going on in the blue cities around this nation and failing to condemn threats of further violence, and constantly reporting in ways to further genenrate such rage and outbreaks of violence.  

Had you maybe accepted the election result in 2016 and actually been accurate in reporting on the events of Crossfire Hurricane, BLM and the riots to date, and of police being ordered to stand down and not arrest rioters, then maybe this boarding up of buildings in anticipation of further leftist violence would not be necessary.

We'll see if you've learned anything or if you will fan the flames even higher during the 2020 Election.

We'll also note the buildings aren't being boarded up out of fear and anticipation of Trump supporters running amok, looting and breaking windows.

There's A Disconnect Between What J.Q. Public Thinks The Cops Can Do, And What They Actually Can Do

The riots and protests in Philly, and subsequent pandering by the Biden campaign over the incident are a result of the ignorant believing the cops should have done something other than shoot a mentally-ill man coming at them with a knife.

Of course the Biden campaign decided this was the pre-election BLM moment to seize upon:

Yep, they are absolutely convinced that a man who happened to be Black, and was in the process of attacking officers with a knife had a life that "mattered".  It's rather clear they believe the police officers lives (at least one of whom involved also happened to be Black) don't matter.

 

Already people are stating Wallace was 12 feet away from the police when they shot him and the knife couldn't reach them from there so they shouldn't have shot him as he wasn't close enough.  John Q Public doesn't know about and has never seen a Tueller drill.

We already have the Wallace family playing the ghetto lottery and announcing a wrongful death suit claiming the cops should have done something else other than shooting Wallace while he was attacking him, claiming he was "assassinated".  

 

No, that word does not mean what they think it means.

The Wallace family, the Biden campaign, et al., expected the cops to do "something else" when faced by a man advancing on them with a knife.

Partially, this is because there is a tremendous disconnect between what the public thinks the police are trained and able to do and what they are actually trained and able to do. 

 

Hence the commenters with "He was 12 feet away", "Why didn't they just shoot the knife out of his hand?", or just per Biden "shoot him in the leg?" or, “Why didn’t you just close with him and use your hand to hand skills to get the knife out of his hand?, you could have easily done that right and no one would get hurt, right?”

The public thinks police are trained to be super-marksmen, experts at martial arts, and able to ensure compliance with no one getting hurt if they just want that to happen by words alone. 

 

Partially this is due to politicians claiming just let the police handle it as they are the “professionals”. Then add Hollywood to the mix and the average person thinks all cops are trained to be super-SWAT black belts that can't miss and can disarm someone with the flick of a wrist, and it’s easy to see where this misapprehension comes from.

Instead, in reality most police get minimal training in hand to hand skills, barely any refresher training in those skills, and just adequate training in firearms. 

Reality also dictates going hand-to-hand against a person armed with a knife is going to most likely result in the officer getting cut, perhaps very badly.

 

The average person also doesn’t realize how dangerous a crazed individual with a knife can be. 

 

Reality also dictates that just shooting them in the leg or shooting the knife out of their hand is not going to work in real life how Hollywood makes it appear. The officer is going to miss, or maybe instead hit and the attacker will likely bleed out via their femoral artery in their leg, or the brachial artery in their arm.

In short, the public's ignorance, encouraged by the media and politicians, lead them to think police can do what they currently cannot and they get outraged when reality doesn't meet their fantasy impression of how a situation should be resolved.  Throw in a little race baiting and you get riots as a result.

So, What Are The Odds?

Approximately, and the data seems to be hard to find,  1 in 50 Wisconsinites overall has a felony record.

So whats the odds that it turns out that all 3 of the attackers of Kyle Rittenhouse had felony records?

 

 One pedo sex offender, one felony domestic abuser, and one felony burglar.  Quite the trifecta.

For those of you wondering what the answer is, and what the odds actually are, well, per a statistics person I know who just communicated the answer to me, the odds are roughly 1 in 10,000.

A Taxing Insult Added To Injury In Minneapolis

Minneapolis Businesses got hammered in the BLM riots, with over 100 business properties destroyed or heavily damaged in the riots.

But in order to get a demolition permit in the city, you have to first prepay your property taxes, money that is supposed to be spent on things like police protection that was rather absent during the riots.

 Waiting for the property taxes to be paid when they come due in October, would give the victims of the riots an opportunity to rebuild and actually attempt to recover and perhaps make some money so they can pay the property tax.  But no, Minneapolis is requiring they pay it before a demolition permit is issued so they can't rebuild until that happens.

It's yet another great way to drive business out of the city - if the riots didn't tell you it was time to go, the taxman demanding his due before you can even clean up the damage form the riot surely will.

You Can't Have A Battle For Seattle

If the police aren't allowed to come out to play and only the rioters get to take to the streets.

The Chief of the Seattle PD just informed Seattle property owners that they were on their own this weekend, as the police would not be coming out to protect property:

Why?  Well, the Seattle City Council, in its woke wisdom, has banned the police from using less lethal substances such as OC and tear gas in handling riot and crowd control disturbances in Seattle.  The ordinance is citing both the First Amendment and the fear that tear gas and OC could cause the spread of COVID-19 (No, really - read the ordinance).

Since Seattle PD can't use less-lethal, and they certainly can't use lethal force to protect property, they have no real way to stop these riots and property damage.

The Seattle Police Chief's letter basically just informed property owners that they're on their own, as the PD will not be protecting property as they can no longer use appropriate tools to do so.

I expect the Seattle PD and the local prosecutor will however probably prosecute business owners protecting their property to the fullest extent.

Given there's at least 4 scheduled 'protests' set for this weekend with such charming objectives including ending capitalism and "fascism", it's gonna get sporty when they realize the police are not coming out to curb their enthusiastic 'peaceful' protests.

Good luck law-abiding citizens of Seattle - you're going to need it.

Portland Mayor Firmly On The Side Of The Rioters

This is why Trump had to send in Federal Law Enforcement to protect the Federal Courthouse in Portland.

Instead of enforcing the law against rioters and their acts of arson, assault, and destruction of property, the mayor of Portland is cheering them on and having the Portland police stand down.

The rioting in Portland has been going on for well over a month now, and its being aided and abetted by the Democrat political establishment there.

Yep, that's go to go over real well.

Will the Mayor and Police Chief kow-tow to the mob? Will they ignore the trial? Will he instead send juice boxes and binkies, and maybe cartoon instructions on how to wear a mask properly (see the pics ion the linked Detroit News article)?

Not very long ago, the NY Times Opinion page was chock full of how protesting against the government was dangerous, un-American, and downright unpatriotic if not unconstitutional (yes, really).

So protests with looting and arson in the name of a politically favorable cause = good.

Peaceful protests against arbitrary and capricious lockdown decisions, with no violence, looting, vandalism, or rioting, not to mention leaving the protest grounds cleaner than how the anti-lockdown protstors found them = bad.

Remember Folks, Everyone Who Doesn't Buy Into Your Political Preferences Is A Racist

The current Dem playbook on winning friends and influencing people apparently entails solely of calling them racists.

This is because there's nothing more effective and likely to get voters with disagreements with you over a variety of policy preferences to cross over and start voting Democrat than calling them racist.

Michigan Democratic Party Chairwoman Lavora Barnes said supporters of President Donald Trump are "racist."

In a Sunday statement, Barnes said it was time to have “uncomfortable conversations" and end the silence surrounding black oppression, including efforts to suppress the black vote.

“If you support Donald Trump, you are a racist,” Barnes wrote. “Here is where it gets tricky and uncomfortable. Donald Trump is a racist, and if being a racist is not a deal-breaker for you, you are the reason black people are being murdered for being black.”

When she got called out on this nonsensical and quite frankly racist statement, she of course doubled down and claimed she was the victim in the situation.

Barnes fired back Monday calling Cox’s statement an attempt “to shame me for speaking truth to power.” She said the Republican leader’s response was an attempt to “deflect, blame and lie.”

Democrats love this "truth to power" BS. She's the freakin' Leader of the Democrat party in Michigan. Her party controls the Governors office, the Secretary of State's office and the Attorney General's office. What power be she speakin' truth to here? She sure doesn't seem to be talkin' to herself nor her fellow Democrats in power.

Funny how as the head of the Democratic party in Michigan she failed to call out the Democrat-run police forces, prosecutors, and governments in these Blue cities that are having all this "oppression" for their "racism". Instead jumped straight to blaming Trump who has no control over these cities policies on use of force and actions taken when someone is resisting arrest, has backed protests and condemned inappropriate use of force but has not condoned rioting and vandalism.

Funny that, isn't it?

Gov Half-Whit Relaxes Social Distancing - For Rioters

You can't make this up.

Gov Half-Whit just announced that social distancing will be loosened to allow outdoor gatherings up to 100 people immediately.

Meanwhile she is kindly opening up restaurants at 50% starting - but not until next week.

Still, hair salons, gyms etc will still be closed.

Of course the live press conference starring both her and the Lt. Governor both bashed President Trump.

Hilariously both claimed its the problem that those in power are not listening to Black people and those in power need to design a system to be more equitable and their voices heard.

Go ahead and watch it to hear lots of progressive-infested language and flowery rhetoric.

Ahem morons, you're the Governor and Lt. Governor of the state - you are the power in this state, so bemoaning a lack of power is a tad bit beyond trite. Your voices are being heard from a freaking press conference you're giving to the entire state. Sheesh. Of course, they noted their government is the most diverse evar, and it feels and sees you. This is nice I suppose, but it sure as heck hasn't been very effective.

Dear Governor Half Whit, You Can't Say You're Speaking Truth To Power. You Are The Power.

Our very special Governor Whitmer didn't have a word to condemn the riots.

Instead she tweeted:

To the good people of Michigan: we see you. We hear you. Your voice is what drives change now and always.

All of us must be the relief. We must organize. We must speak truth to power. We will get through this together.

Yay, leftist pablum from the Gov in the face of riots.

Ahem, dear governor you are the "power" in this situation. Nice of you to see and hear them, but interesting how you choose to see them over the peaceful protestors who were against your arbitrary shutdowns.

So, she had not one word about the protesters and rioters violating social distancing causing her to have to extend the lock-down?

Not one word condemning the destruction of property caused by the rioters?

The best she could do is send out her Lt. Governor (who was selected because he's Black and is the spokesman for this, because he's Black, to say property damage is bad:

How Not To Get A Protest And Riots Named In Your Honor

So we will likely get a bit more rioting tonight.

Take people cooped and afraid up with nothing to do and no outlet for the pressure.

Add a stupid act by a police officer excessively kneeling on someone's neck that may not have been the sole factor in his death but likely was A factor, and that was sufficient to get riots breaking out amongst the blue state cities.

Now this could have been entirely prevented by two simple steps on the part of the departed Mr. Floyd:

1. Don't commit a crime; and
2. Don't resist arrest.

Most encounters with police start going downhill once you decide to resist a lawful arrest.

How far it rolls downhill depends on factors that can get out of control very quickly.

In this case it definitely went downhill and got out of control, badly.

Did Their Mothers Never Teach Them Not To Play In Traffic?

Let's see, special snowflakes block a freeway, at night, wearing dark clothing and only occasionally shining little lights, with oncoming cars approaching at highway speeds - what could possibly go wrong?

Well, this:

Stupidity tends to hurt, and blocking traffic because you're upset with an election result tends to be the very definition of stupid.

At the very least, the Detroit Police Department announced they will arrest anyone blocking freeways in the city which should cut down on some of this silliness coming out of Wayne State University, and the Michigan State Police has made a similar announcement.

Stockholm Riots Continue, Detroit Media Continues To Ignore Them, And Swedish Socialist Have The Answer

Riots continue in Stockholm with not a mention in either the Detroit News nor the Detroit Free Press. One would think it was news-worthy by now, but not to either of those august institutions.

The Swedes are continuing to treat the rioters with kid-gloves and announcing they will take only minimal measures against the rioters. By failing to crack down after 6 nights the riots simply carry on. As expected, the news simply refers to the rioters as immigrants but says that community and religious leaders were trying to stem the violence...but the report fails to name that religion nor that community:

Of course, the Swedish socialists seem to have the answer. It's an insane answer, but it's the only answer their ideology has:

When you try to willingly and with conviction push your own culture and identity out of existence, you're done.

While Tam seems to think the Euros will go from zero to jackboots in the face of such rioting in the grand old European style, it looks instead like the chicken Swedes will race to appease and surrender as quickly as possible.

All The News That's Not Fit To Get Some Print

Tam at VFTP posts that Reuters reports on riots in Stockholm, Sweden where Muslims, cutely and euphemistically called "youths", have been setting fire to cars and rioting for three days. The Reuters report neither menitons the "M" word nor the "I" word to identify these "disaffected youths".

Unsurprisingly, the Swedish left is blaming itself for the riots rather than the wrongdoers.

Our Left Says: "Why do they hate us?", and the Swedish Left says: "Why do they burn our cars?"

The left-leaning tabloid Aftonbladet said the riots represented a "gigantic failure" of government policies, which had underpinned the rise of ghettos in the suburbs.

"We have failed to give many of the people in the suburbs a hope for the future," Anna-Margrethe Livh of the opposition Left Party wrote in the daily Svenska Dagbladet.

Interestingly enough, neither the Detroit Free Press nor the Detroit News deign to mention this rather news-worthy, multi-day riot.

Funny how they've wholly failed to cover it while instead giving the lead in their compilation of World/Nation news such stories as "McDonald's CEO bawled-out by 9-year-old" (The Free Press) and Report: Nation’s kids need to get more physical (The Detroit News). Note the resuklts of searches for "Sweden": The Freepand The News - not a single mention of any riots at all.

Given our large Muslim population here in the Detroit area, it's hard to tell if this media blackout is meant to kowtow to them or instead is to prevent inspiration of some spontaneous youth riots here.

Remember, its not news until they decide to cover it.
