San Fran Trip Day 2 - The Port of SFO and Fisherman's Wharf

Day 2 saw us awake to a quite cool and dry morning we woke up, had breakfast and headed to Fisherman's Wharf.

We took the tram to the Wharf, first stopping at the Port of San Francisco Ferry Building.

The ferry building has a market within it, and some of its occupants woke up quite crabby that morning:

The sky was grey and overcast but there were some great views of the bay to be seen:

We also got a nice shot of Alcatraz from the waterfront:

Then we took a two tours that each deserve their own posts, which will be coming up next.

After the tours, we hit Fisherman's Wharf.

The wharf was busier than usual, having all the tourists with now worthless Alcatraz tickets also wandering the pier looking for something else to do.

We had lunch at the Pier Market Seafood Restaurant - The best clam chowder ever. The mesquite-grilled salmon was also a killer, as was the calamari. Great stuff.

After that we returned to the hotel for a rest then dinner with the family, extended family, and out of town guests in a private party at Fang Restaurant. Quite simply, Fang has now ruined Chinese food for me in Michigan. Every dish was beyond awesome, not to mention authentic and amazing. Did I mention no Chinese food in Michigan can compare nor come close? I now have an idea for Detroit's salvation - lots of industrious Chinese immigrants that can cook. A great Day 2, and the two special tours will be discussed later.
