Media Euphemisms To Obscure Reality Continued

The Detroit News has decided to fall in line in regards to the politically correct guidelines to describing the homeless.

They're no longer homeless.

They're now unhoused. 

This particular batch of "unhoused" are now unalived, to use another euphemism.

Attention in the capital city has turned toward violence on the Lansing River Trail this month after the Lansing State Journal first reported five unhoused men have died after being severely injured along the trail in the last year and the similarities in the cases in September.  

As the "unhoused" tend to be rather exposed and live unhealthy lifestyles, often suffer from mental and physical ailments, as well as drug usage that leave them less than healthy and in contact with unsavory characters including each other, they often get unalived whether by misadventure or unjustified homicide. 

Institutionalizing the mentally ill doesn't just protect innocents from them, it also protects them from themselves and others. 

In any case they're homeless, not "unhoused".

That Lindsay Clancy had strangled to death instead of her children.

Do you really think all these women would be lining the entry to the courthouse and sitting in wearing pink on her behalf?

Note the pictures, every single one attending is indeed a white female and almost certainly can be classified as an AWFUL - an American, White Female University-educated Liberal.

But now, with ten states allowing abortion up until the very moment of birth, there is room for the suggestion of a modest proposal here:

We simply need states to respect women's choices and bodily autonomy, and to do so to meet the AWFUL's needs. We therefore must extend that cut-off to permit post-partum abortions until the child reaches real viability. 

 Perhaps that should be six years old where the child can prove they can sleep through the night and get up and feed themselves without their mother's intervention. Perhaps longer, maybe even up to 18, for after all, it depends on how the mother is feeling at the moment, and it is her choice, of course.

In all seriousness however, while she has certainly committed murder and had a multitude of options to handle the situation other than killing her children, this is again a case where mental health care in this country needs a major rework. 

It is well past time that choices are made and resources are dedicated to the  institutionalization and treatment of those who are a harm to themselves or others until it can be shown they will not be such a harm.  It is long overdue.

Yet Another One

And yet another mentally ill Trans (kinda repetitive, that) did a mass killing, this time killing his own family and a family friend in a hockey arena.

Certainly it is a disturbing but unfortunately not an unexpected trend, and trans individuals are now quite disproportionately represented in mass killings.

In a less progressively enlightened age, we used to consider someone who wanted to cut off their genitals to be a danger to themselves.

Those who are diagnosed as a threat to themselves or others are typically are prohibited from buying and possessing  firearms, which seems more and more like a good idea, doesn't it?

This guy was indeed both a danger to himself and others, but instead of being declared mentally ill and treated for his psychosis he likely got celebrated and got some hormone treatments to make him even crazier and unstable to boot.  

Instead of treating mentally ill people as mentally ill, we just put them on opposing-gender hormones, and watch them go off and kill people. The left then gets more up in arms when the killers are "mis-gendered" than with the fact that they killed a bunch of people.  Oh, and the left instead of addressing the problem of feting the mentally ill will instead call for generalized gun bans against those who are not mentally ill and not a danger to themselves or others.

Maybe that approach and failed trendy belief system should change.

More Transit Attack Woes, Now In Chicago

On the Blue Line Train in Chicago, at 9:25 pm a 26-year-old white woman was set on fire by a 45 or 50 year old man. Depending on the reports, there was either an argument before the man doused her with a flammable liquid and set her on fire, or was simply sitting there when the man poured the liquid on her and set it on fire in an unprovoked attack. Update:  It's been confirmed that there was no argument, this was an unprovoked attack.

The man is not being identified by the media, so you can draw your own conclusions.

While not identifying him nor providing identifying information, the media has helpfully reported almost every other detail about him.

He had previously been arrested 53 times, and has a record with 9 felony convictions with only having jail time for two of them. His latest assault before this one took place in August when he knocked out a female social worker causing a major head injury when he was being held in a psychiatric hospital. 

So much for replacing cops with social workers. 

He was released and set free, after that last attack, because of course he was. Set free by a Cook County Judge and sent home on home monitoring which was apparently not being monitored very well at all. Should we mention he has no home of record, either?

Yep, let mentally ill criminals continue to walk the streets no matter how many crimes they commit, let them roam free on public transit, then go on about how violence is down and Chicago and its transit system is very safe after an attack inevitably happens.  Much like the Iryna Zarutska  event a mentally ill criminal arrested multiple times but always given a slap on the wrist, if that, and returned to commit crimes again and again and again until someone gets killed or seriously maimed.

Anarcho-tyranny at its finest.

Or: You Really Don't Hate The Media Enough.

The murder of Iryna Zarutska occurred on August 22 and its been only on mainly conservative sites where it has been getting coverage as the video of the murder was leaked until just now. 

The dam finally broke today and a slew of mainstream sites are finally covering it weeks later (note the datestamps of times of the stories in the Google search - mainly coming out today and indeed within hours before this post) with much of the coverage being about the accusation that the lack of coverage has been  politicized by MAGA types (yes, really) as the story spread while leftist and mainstream media sources blithely failed to cover it at all. 

So, why did the media not cover a story of a mentally-ill man killing an innocent woman?

Well, of course there's the racial angle, Black man killing White female is double-plus-ungood to mention, especially as there's no domestic violence angle to play here where you can blame western patriarchal family structures.

After all, Black on White violence is indeed Dog-Bites-Man to the mainstream media and statistically is the norm compared to White on Black violence.

It's a further issue not worthy of coverage as it goes directly against the left's soft on crime initiatives including no cash bail and releasing people on the happy belief criminals and mentally ill criminals at that, will show up in court on their own after being charged with violent crimes. he had been arrested and released 13 14 times prior to the murder, with the most recent release just before it took place with zero bail to reappear on his latest charge.

This also took place on mass transit in a Democrat controlled city.  Democrats love their mass transit and prefer to gloss over the crime that occurs on it.  And, it's in a Democrat city with soft on crime policies - so much so that the mayor in talking about the crime was more concerned and gave more time to the fact that the perpetrator had been homeless and the bromides of root causes than the fate of the victim.  

On top of that, mentally ill people attacking innocents in public is commonplace,  par for the course, and not to be remarked upon by the media progressives. After all, they have pushed for deinstitutionalization and hold the charming belief that the mentally ill just see the world differently from the rest of us.

Indeed, they do. 

Quite simply, unless the mentally ill person uses a gun and shoots up a school or a crowd so the media and progressives can use it to promote gun bans, they're simply not interested.

So, this story had all the reasons why the mainstream media didn't want to touch it with a 10-foot pole until they were forced to do so:  

An attractive and wholly innocent white victim, who was a refugee no less; a Black perpetrator who was mentally ill and had a violent criminal record a mile long who was let out to roam free again and again until he finally killed someone; and it taking place on public transit.

No wonder the media didn't want to talk about it until they were forced to do so. 

Copycat Knifings

The stabbing of 11 people at the Walmart in Traverse City by a mentally ill man, made notable by the presence of an armed citizen who was there to stop the attack is now drawing copycats.

A 29-year-old man is accused of stabbing another person last week inside a Walmart in Kent County, officials said.

 Again, bystanders commendably intervened to stop the attack - which si a rather positive copycat effect.

The copycat effect on the criminal side is unfortunately quite real.

So is the realization, finally, that per the Detroit News's quoted experts:  Michigan's mental health system not set up to help severely ill, experts say 

Yep, I've been saying that on this blog for a long time now. 

And Another Mentally Ill Killer - This Time In New York City

So the NYC idiot managed to stroll on the street while carrying an AR-15 type firearm - which is a neat trick, really.

Apparently per, news reports, he blamed the NFL, even though he never played for the NFL, for CTE, a head injury that is not even diagnosed while you are alive. So yep, he had delusions.  Sadly those delusions led him to kill innocents.

In short he was rather non compos in his mentis.

He then entered the building where the NFL is headquartered and killed some people, including a police officer, and then took the wrong elevators and shot a few people on the top floor before killing himself.

Yet again, someone mentally ill and "on the radar" doesn't get the treatment they need and are left free to roam and kill the innocent.

Meanwhile, CNN seems to also be suffering from mental problems as they are having a great deal of difficulty identifying and describing things accurately:

While not featured, and  the media here is at least admitting that it was a man with a pistol that helped stop the mentally-ill stabber that attacked 11 people in a Walmart in Taraverse City.

 It only took until the sixth paragraph for the Detroit Free Press to note that of the men surrounding the stabber and stopping him there was:

one who appears to be holding a handgun 

Still, at least that's something. 

The Detroit News also took the same six paragraphs to get to that rather important fact, but they were at least a bit more definitive about it:

About five minutes later, the man was surrounded by shoppers in the parking lot, including one who was holding a gun. 

Both the Detroit Free Press and the  Detroit News managed to fail to mention that the hero with the gun who stopped the stabber happened to be Black - because that really wouldn't have fit the narrative.

Nor did they so much as mention that this hero was a law-abiding Black man who had a concealed carry permit and was legally carrying at the time.

Hero?  Yes, he and the others certainly are heroes by taking action then and there to stop the attack and subdue the attacker - long before the police arrived. 

And the stabber, to no one's surprise has a long history of both criminal convictions (with minimal sentences) and of mental illness.

We need to treat mental illness a lot more seriously in this country, and actually institutionalize those who are a danger to themselves and others, rather than let them wander free and assault others at will.

The killer mentioned in the article as a "teen boy" with "professing alleged alt-right extremist views about "race mixing," who did the shooting, and then saved everyone the cost of a trial, was Black.

Kind of a relevant and indeed surprising detail, neh?  Impressively not mentioned at all.

That he was a Black nazi likely indicates his education up until he took himself out of the gene pool (sadly killing an innocent while doing so), was rather inadequate when it came to both history and political philosophy. Indeed, this is  likely yet another teen with mental illness acting out.

A transgender woman from Pontiac has filed a court claim demanding her testicles back, insisting her ex-boyfriend is keeping them in a jar in his refrigerator and refusing to return them.

Just wait, it gets better.

The ex, when told of the complaint, apparently didn't seem to deny having the boys around. But, he told the Detroit News that the transgender complainant has been harassing him so much previously he had to get a PPO against it and had already removed whatever was wanted from the residence. 

Oh, and the transgender complainant has a prior conviction for assault for pulling a knife on another roommate, who was also transgendered.

Issues?  Methinks this one's got subscriptions.

Apparently The MSU Killer Was Indeed Mentally Ill

And yet, as usual,  no one did anything.

Per the a-hole's uncle, he apparently was a paranoid schizophenzic. (hat tip Eaton Rapids Joe).  Interestingly neither the Detroit News nor the Detroit Free Press chose to report this, instead both giving a feature-length article to the MSU professor where said a-hole shot at the students and killed some. Said professor's emotive screed thus pushing for gun control, who pushes in a manner that shows he has no clue what current laws are, and  that he would not use a gun to defend his students if he had the opportunity (which is his choice, but still).

Interesting that it's a UK paper discussing this, and the only media outlet  so far pointing out that had he been convicted of the felony instead of the misdemeanor charge from his illegal concealed carry in a vehicle, he would not have been able to legally purchase the firearms he used that night.  No Michigan paper in Detorit nor in Lansing is pointing this out - it would make the woke Ingham County prosecutor whose policy likely helped cause this look bad.

No word if said a-hole was given meds, taking his meds, off his meds, or what not or if the family ever sought to get him actual help.

When Inmates Take Over The Asylum And Then Try To Sue

Apparently, it is now considered by some to be a lack of deescalation problem when a police officer fails to do something other than shooting someone in the act of trying to shoot the officer.

As I had written about the Dearborn Suicide-by-Cop incident, "There have been no protests yet that the Police should have used a social worker in this instance, but as in a recent incident in Detroit that may yet happen."

Sure enough, and it didn't take long, the family in this incident is now protesting and claiming that police should have "deescalated the situation" and hired a lawyer to try and get a payday out of their family member's criminal acts:

Attorney Amir Makled, retained by Naji's family, has acknowledged the threat Naji posed when he pointed the gun at the officer. But Makled argues the killing could have been avoided with proper implementation of police deescalation protocols.

"Officers are trained to and should be skilled at recognizing mental health crises. The deceased was not in a state to know right from wrong," Makled said.

 "At what point did police know that there was someone in the lobby with a firearm? Did they give (Naji) the opportunity and time to comply with the demands of law enforcement? At what point were law enforcement in immediate threat if there's bullet-proof glass? This is what we're trying to find out."

Let's remember for a moment that Naji was shot while he was pointing a gun at an officer and had pulled the trigger. 

Police Officers, if made to adopt this ridiculous standard suggested by his attorney, would be in an impossible situation.

If someone is pointing a gun at you and pulling the trigger, you're somehow supposed to in a nanosecond evaluate if they're having a mental health crisis - as if this implies someone with a mental health crisis is somehow less of a threat when committing a deadly act - and then apparently try to talk them down while they're trying to kill you?

Sounds like an eminently sensible standard right there, then aagin there has yet been any proof provided that Naji even was diagnosed with a mental illness at the time he committed his act of attempted murder.

What next?  Perhaps demanding that Police Officers must be shot first before they can shoot back?

I daresay the attorneys for Naji have jumped the shark in their misbegotten quest to get the family a payday.

Dearborn Suicide By Cop Incident

This incident that occurred on Sunday had a bit of twist on the more typical suicide by cop incidents.  

While all such incidents are terrible as they require the Police to take a life in order to protect themselves, the idiot at least made it somewhat more convenient for the police, as he came to them rather than having them called out to go to him.

Detroit Free Press: Police say Dearborn man pointed gun at officer, pulled trigger, but it failed to fire

A Dearborn man who was shot to death in the lobby of the city's police department Sunday suffered from mental illness and tried to shoot directly at an officer — but the gun failed to fire, police said.

He pointed a stolen 9mm pistol at a police officer and pulled the trigger, but the gun malfunctioned, Lt. Mike Shaw, a Michigan State Police spokesperson, told the Free Press on Monday.

The Dearborn man was then shot by the officer multiple times.

“He was trying to kill a police officer, or whoever was in that lobby at that time," Shaw said.

The man's family identified him as Ali Naji, 33.

So, he apparently stole a handgun earlier that day, and likely didn't know how to use it, which turned out to be a very good thing in this instance.  The police officer then demonstrated the appropriate technique and properly ended the threat.

There have been no protests yet that the Police should have used a social worker in this instance, but as in a recent incident in Detroit that may yet happen.

New York Progressives And The Justice System They Have Sowed

From New York City comes a charming if not incredulous tale of what happens when progressives run the criminal justice system.

The situation is as follows:  a man in a park in a very progressive part of Brooklyn attacked a lady walking her dog, threw urine on them and killed the dog by hitting it with a stick he was carrying. He then left unmolested.    He has since neither been charged nor arrested.

A further complication is the assumed to be mentally-challenged man happens to be Black, which has set the progressives in the area around the park in quite a quandary.

Hilariously if not unbelievably, residents there are less upset about the crime and the fact they have a violent mentally-disturbed person wandering about their park free to assault people at will, but are more upset that the man is being sought out of concerns that it could be systemic racism to do so. Indeed they seem busy defending him in the name of social justice:

Weeks went by with no arrest made. Neighborhood sleuths fervently discussed the situation, and many expressed support for Chrustic, but soon a vocal minority asked why the mostly White town seemed insistent on taking down a Black man who seemed homeless and "emotionally disturbed." Others called the man a "psychopath" and a "predator" who needed to face justice," the Times reported.

Martin Lofsnes, a 52-year-old dancer who had moved away from the neighborhood in 2020, saw the discussion on Nextdoor while trying to sell some belongings, and was appalled. He spoke about the "400 yrs of systematic racism which has prevented black people from building generational wealth through homeownership resulting in the extreme disparity we see today." He told residents that throwing the man in jail would solve nothing and urged them to set up fundraisers for him.

Other residents thought Lofsnes naïve, with some even saying he was "mansplaining."

"In a dog-loving, progressive enclave, where pushing law and order can clash with calls for social justice, what’s the right thing to do? How do you protect the public without furthering injustice against this man?" Times writer John Leland asked.

You really cannot make this up. 

Apparently if you're Black and quite a few Froot Loops short of having a full box of cereal, you may, per the New York progressive belief system, attack people in public and kill their pets at will, because social justice.

In short, the NY powers that be will likely do nothing about this person until he kills someone.

Then, there will be much excuse-making over lack of mental health care facilities, and of course, the canard that "the system failed".

The system the woke in New York have setup is deliberately designed to fail.

It is designed to fail to protect ordinary citizens from crime - from hamstringing the police; to ignoring crimes; to letting violent criminals be immediately released without even a requirement for cash bail so they can be out to commit crimes yet again; and a justice system that gives the criminals mere slaps on the wrist if they happen to decide to show up for trial.

Unfortunately, this progressive obsession with letting criminals roam amuck is not confined to New York.

Running At Police With A Knife Tends To Lead To A Predictable Outcome

So a fellow, Porter Burks, with known mental issues, and prior run-ins with police, takes a knife and slashes his brother's car tires in Detroit and is roaming around the street.

Brother concerned for safety of Porter and the public considering that Porter  is out wandering the street with a knife and acting psycho, calls the police.

Police then confront the fellow who refuses to drop the knife and who then decides to run towards the officers while still holding the knife and gets to within 6 feet of the nearest officer before being dropped by police, and he dies soon thereafter after being shot multiple times. Most of the incident video available at the link above with the Detroit News, but not the entire event.

So of course Attorney Geoffrey Fieger is suing on behalf of the family. 

The mentally-ill attacker is now, of course, being described as a happy straight-A student that liked to sing and dance (and apparently liked to stab people and things with knives, but that part is being left unsaid, natch).

Fieger is actually and rather very disingenuously suggesting that the police should have let themselves be stabbed rather than stopping the threat:

"Why you can’t figure out a better way to deal with him than executing him by firing squad?” Fieger asked at Thursday's news conference.

"You have all sorts of equipment, all that body armor that police have," he said. "They have helmets, they have arm and chest armor. They have bulletproof vests everywhere. Are you telling me that today, you don't have sufficient equipment to send an officer toward somebody with a 3-inch knife and instead you have to execute him?

"If that’s crisis intervention, God help us all.”

That actually is an effective crisis intervention when dealing with a person psychotically waving a knife around in public that decides to run towards someone with knife in hand after ignoring repeated requests and commands to drop the knife.

It's true that  mental health care services suck and are overwhelmed, and we lack enough in-patient hospital beds to handle all the mentally ill in Michigan and the US for that matter. That was a choice made by politicians to both save money and the quaint idea that the dangerously mentally-ill were just seeing the world different and it was fine for them to be out and about until they kill someone, then politicians act all surprised that that occurred. So the police and jail become the first line of treatment for mentally ill individuals that choose to act out violently.

But, one could still ask why the family didn't have the fellow getting in-patient treatment or at least regular out-patient treatment, considering he had stabbed at least one family member previously (report is unclear if it was multiple family members or multiple incidents), and was known to have what have been described by the family as "psychotic breaks", but that wouldn't help with the chances for winning the ghetto lottery, now would it?

No One Could Have Seen That Coming, Oh Wait . . .

That's what most people would call a "clue".

This is especially so as he was being called that for months before he attacked the school.

The Uvalde, Texas, gunman gave off so many warning signs that he was obsessed with violence and notoriety in the months leading up to the attack that teens who knew him began calling him “school shooter.”

A state investigative report that highlighted law enforcement's bungled response to the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School has also provided the most in-depth account to date about missed red flags and possible motivations surrounding 18-year-old Salvador Ramos. Despite many warning signs, he still managed to legally amass more than $5,000 in guns, ammunition and gear in the weeks leading up to the killings.

Read the entire ABC news article and be amazed at how many clear signs the killer was giving off and yet nothing was done.

Yet again, another "known wolf" giving off clear signs of violent intent and mental illness with a propensity for violence towards others and again nothing was done.

Heck, for 77 minutes as the shooting went on, nothing effective was done either. 

The insanely bungled and inept, if not beyond grossly negligent, police response cost lives.  But so too did the abject failure to act after so damn many clear indications were made by the killer before he acted.

“This tragic situation has now been brought to a close, and our investigators will now pivot to see if we can answer the question on everyone’s mind – why?,” Sheriff Michael Bouchard said.

Serious mental illness is screaming out as the cause for this one.  

Ruby Taverner, 22 shot and killed her boyfriend Ray Muscat and her twin brother Bishop Taverner.

Reading further in the article the mental health plot begins to thicken as one finds that Ray used to not be Ray, and Ruby used to not be Ruby:

Ruby Taverner was formerly known as Martin Taverner; Ray Muscat was formerly known as Amber Muscat, the release said.

Forget about issues, that relationship had subscriptions.

Some Teen And Adult Drama

As I've said before, Covid is causing lots of anxiety and mental health problems, and exacerbating existing mental health problems - and there's lots of mental health problems to go around, especially in high school right now.

Let's take T/S for example.

T/S goes to my daughters' school and is in Leah's grade.

She's T/S because her actual name starts with T but she's recently decided she's a male gender and wants to be called S(name) or They as her personal pronoun.  Hasn't actually "transitioned" and this is instead a mental health problem writ large and one helluva way to get attention and be treated as a special snowflake.

If you dare call her by her actual T name you're apparently "dead-naming" her and that's bad.  The woke high school is apparently ok with this and going along with it and the kids have been conditioned to refer to her as "they" and her new gender name.  Rules of reality do not apply, and apparently you can call yourself Emperor of The Americas and everyone is expected to nod, accept it, and play along with your delusion.

Based on an episode that happened this weekend I'm just going to call her Little ShiT.

While Leah was with me on the  Mackinac Island trip, Little ShiT was with two of Leah's friends at the mall.

Little ShiT was seen by those two friends to shoplift at the mall, which freaked both of them out completely and they told her to stop, put the items back and what the hell was she doing? 

Little ShiT initially put the items back, but then shoplifted them yet again to the other kids' dismay, who wanted nothing to do with her at that point and didn't want to be near her.  One of the other kids actually went into a panic attack over it as yes, Covid anxiety and the fact her companion was thieving right in front of her caused that.

Drama at the mall does not stay at the mall.  

While Little ShiT apparently made a clean getaway, this didn't end the matter. 

She started accusing the kids who were with her at the mall of not being her friends and having a little text war over it.  In her texts, Little ShiT actually admits to the thefts even as she tried to gaslight her friends as to what actually happened and attacks them for hurting her feelings and betraying her and starts guilt tripping them.  No shit.

The group then dragged Leah into it Saturday night after we got home on the text chain and Leah  defends her two friends who were with Little ShiT and tells Little ShiT straight out that she cannot be putting this on her friends who told her not to steal and what Little ShiT did was wrong. Period. F'ing dot.

Little ShiT then apparently calls in some adult backup.  Hence the Adult Drama part.

Little ShiT gets her dad on the chat and Dad starts calling the kids on their phones screaming at them for daring to accuse Little ShiT of being a thief.  Funnily enough, Dad uses Little ShiT's "deadname" in his text and phone demands and the sky does not crack open.

Leah has not told either of us what is happening at this point, but Leak blocks the call.  Smart kid, but she should have pulled us in as soon as another adult starts dipping in, if not before.

But Dad does call and yells at two of the kids, including the one with the panic attack leading to another panic attack and to the other kid.  Real tough guy, yelling at kids for daring to do the right thing and telling his Little ShiT not to be a thief.

The panic attack child at this point is now worrying for her safety from both Little ShiT and Little ShiT's dad. Causing another panic attack. 

Other kid, whose mom happens to be an attorney, and mom hears Little ShiT's Dad yelling at her kid over the phone as it happens and takes the bullying of her child by Little ShiT's dad rather personally - as she should.  Fireworks ensue.

So far it is calm at school but Little ShiT is apparently rather pouty. 

I will continue to monitor and if Little ShiT's dad tries to contact or threaten Leah then I will come out to play. 

This Is Going To Get Much Worse

Take a pandemic, mix in an overreaction with excessive lock downs and reduction in medical and mental health services and availability,  and add in social isolation and you get a perfect storm for a major increase in mental health issues:

It's not like there were plenty of beds available for mental health treatment before the lock downs hit, and now there's a skyrocketing demand and not nearly enough facilities. 

Expect more violence from the untreated mentally ill, especially from those who should have been in in-facility treatment but are not and are going about untreated and unsupervised.

Add in all those teetering on the brink of needing in-patient treatment due to the anxiety, lack of access to care and the associated problems caused by the lock down polices in terms of unemployment, unavailable medical procedures, and social isolation and the problem gets even worse, especially for teens and adolescents. 

Teen suicides are way up in this state since Covid and Whitmer struck, which is frightening.

Add moronic requirements like Whitmer forcing 2-year-olds to wear masks and we're now raising a whole new generation on social anxiety.

This crisis is not going to be solved anytime soon.

State Psych Hospital In Northville Is Finally Demolished

Shut down in 2003, it has finally met its end with a demolition that has been years in the making and come in millions over budget.

Murph may perhaps one day tell some stories about his hypothetically and allegedly exploring it sometime.

Unfortunately, there was no replacement for the hospital and Michigan has a severe shortage of treatment and institutionalization facilities for the mentally ill.
