Ok, Who Had

From Walmart, no less.

LiveScience: FDA issues warning over possible radioactive shrimp

The FDA is warning consumers not to eat certain frozen shrimp products sold at Walmart after other products from the same company tested positive for a radioactive substance

The bad shrimp was imported by PT. Bahari Makmur Sejati aka BMS Foods.

While at least one shipment contaminated with cesium-137 was caught upon insoection, the FDA is warning people not to eat BMS shrimp they may have bought from Walmart at this time.

Nope, I did not have Radioactive Indonesian Shrimp on my list of concerns for August, but  "Radioactive Indonesian Shrimp" would make a great name for a midget heavy metal band.

Copycat Knifings

The stabbing of 11 people at the Walmart in Traverse City by a mentally ill man, made notable by the presence of an armed citizen who was there to stop the attack is now drawing copycats.

The Detroit News: Man arrested in stabbing at a Walmart in Kent County

A 29-year-old man is accused of stabbing another person last week inside a Walmart in Kent County, officials said.

Again, bystanders commendably intervened to stop the attack - which si a rather positive copycat effect.

The copycat effect on the criminal side is unfortunately quite real.

So is the realization, finally, that per the Detroit News's quoted experts:  Michigan's mental health system not set up to help severely ill, experts say

Yep, I've been saying that on this blog for a long time now.

Your Saturday Walmart Ammo Report, It's Raining 40, With a Continuing Drought of 9 and 22.

So in preparation for the planned gathering this weekend I went by Walmart to get some needed supplies.

I also checked the Walmart Ammo counter.

As usual no one was there and it took about 15 minutes before an associate finally showed up to unlock the ammo case after I, the third person to request assistance, asked for some.

On the upside, they had a massive amount of 40S&W in stock, the most I've ever seen them have, two entire shelves full of various manufacturers and packaging, a lot of 45 ACP and a ton of 5.56. They even had a few boxes of 357 Sig, which is the first time I recall this Walmart ever having that in stock. Hmm, now I might start thinking about a 357 Barrel for my 40 M&P....

On the downside - no 9mm and no 22 LR, as in zip, nada, none, not a single box of either. Hopefully more will appear soon as I'm starting to get low in my stockpiles of both.
