Occupy Activists Spring Forth, Then Rebound Off Of Reality

The Detroit News: Occupy activists spring forth
As spring is upon us, the OWSers leave their union-provided hotel rtooms and head for the parks yet again. Just as before the winter, Occupy still lacks any clear message and its adherents continue to lack a clue as well:

"I'm really grateful to be part of a generation that wants change, 'cause we should all want change," said Jennifer Campbell, a graduate student in documentary filmmaking at Hofstra University. "But I'm not sure what that change is, or if they know what that change is."
Wow. A more vacuous statement would be hard to make up.

Its almost as if Occupy Wall Street has become a Seinfeldianesque "Occupy About Nothing".

Apparently, Hofstra students who major in film making have gone the full post-modernesque tautology in their thoughts as well as their film making. At least she didn't complete the though with "we are the change we have been changing for..."

I'm sure she's all for forgiving student loans, especially once she realizes that after paying $45,000 per year in tuition that documentary film making is hardly the lucrative career it is cracked up to be.

On The Latest OWSer DC Tasing Spectacle

There's quite a lengthy discussion at The Volokh Conspiracy regarding the tasing of an Occupy protester by US Park Police in Washington, D.C. The discussion then goes on in a further posting. The discussion ranges from the tasing being fully justified to the opposite extreme with the usual suspects decrying such as evil police brutality and torture.

The video linked by the Volokh Conspiracy, being uploaded by the OWSers does not, of course, show the beginning of the events.

There is another and longer video again by the OWSers, that captures the event from a different angle. This video gives a tiny bit more of the prior actions and a lot more of the later events. Viewing it provides even more evidence that the police did act appropriately.

Adding to the fun, in this longer video, after the tasing, Mr. Outraged Pajamas at 5mins 12s takes a fake dive worthy of a professional Soccer player. The dive certainly seems pre-planned and coordinated with the other demonstrators for further street theater effect.

The dive is well worth watching for a laugh, and provides evidence that not only does the loudmouth have no employable skills, he also lacks even base acting skills.

It's also fun to hear both the faux outrage and all the tough talk from the OWSers as the guy is being arrested.

With the attitudes being displayed and the multiple threats towards the Park Police made by the OWSers at MacPherson Park, more well-deserved tasings in the future are all but guaranteed.

Anyone up for a "Pizza for Park Police" program for their doing a great job?

If they Occupy Detroit, Would We Even Notice A Difference?

What would Occupy Detroit protest about exactly?

The decades of Democrat malfeasance, overspending, overtaxing, underserving, big-union feather-nesting that has sucked the life out of this once great city?

Or perhaps the decades of Democrat corruption and bribery that came to the forefront when done to excess under Kwame and that dragged the city even farther under?

I suspect not.

But, we will get the chance to find out on October 14. Or maybe it will be on October 21. Well, at least someday soon, coming to a dysfunctional city near you.

Anyone have a timely wisecracks on how leftists can't even plan an inchoate protest properly?

The pictures of the October 10 meeting are rather interesting as well and the captions need to be read to be believed, particularly the "blocking" one (how cute).

This protest, like the other Occupy ones around the country, seems to be comprised of predominently whites, the college-aged and the clueless.

This is rather interesting, given that the city of Detroit is 87.74% not white.

As you'll note from the article, some came from as far as San Francisco to be part of this spontaneous, local activity.
