Inflation Isn't Rearing It's Ugly Head Again, It's Just Being Actually Accurately Reported Again

Right on time for President Trump to take office, the data now shows inflation increasing.

Reason: Trump May Have To Grapple with Returning Inflation

We will note that Reason, an ostensibly libertarian publication is no friend of Trump.  Verily, Reason seems to be having vapors about his actually reducing the size, scope, and spending of government - something you would think a libertarian would cheer for, neh?

One would think so, but no. Basically Reason at this point is all about marijuana legalization and wide open borders, and damn little else. 

It is not "returning inflation", instead it is that inflation is now being reported accurately again after the books have been cooked and the data tortured the past four years.

Politico: How Democrats Were Tricked Into Believing the Economy Was Strong

The Democrats, pace Politico, weren't being "Tricked" -- they were the ones running the trick.  

The Biden-run government agencies were the ones massaging the data and running the scam under reporting inflation and messing with job statistics to give the picture of a rosy economy under Biden that wasn't. 

The Biden Administration and the media establishment (But I'm repeating myself) had been busy boasting and talking up how wonderful the economy under Biden has been, how Biden achieved a "soft landing" and  try to give him a boost for his reelection and then for Harris when even the massaged stats couldn't get him to the finish line.

The administration and media both made themselves busy asking Americans - "Who are going to believe Biden and the Media, or your own lyin' eyes?"

Now that Biden is out, the stats are being reported, presumably more accurately, just in time for President Trump to have to deal with the results of the massive overspending and effects of the policies Biden has left behind. 

The Fed's decision on setting interest rates - including reducing them right before the election which just so happened to assist Biden, was doing so based on the statistics being manipulated.  

The deliberate false reporting of government statistics,  statistics relied upon to set economic policy, should be seen as one of the greatest scandals of the Biden era.  

Perhaps one day it will be.

Every. Single. Time. Yet Again.

Surprising no one, President Biden's final jobs report was "revised" downward - yet again joining every other one of the Bureau of Labor employment statistics reports.

Revised downwards. Every. Damn. Time. 

That simply cannot be a happy coincidence.

Legal Insurrection: January Jobs Report: 2024 Employment Revised Down by 600,000

Well, at least it's not the 818,000 fewer jobs than first reported the last time around, but over counting by 600,000 is one heckuva statistical error.

Yet again, these stats aren't just bad because they let Biden trumpet a healthy economy and jobs market that simply wasn't there - in an election year no less.

A major problem when you cook the books on these reports is people do rely upon them.  For example the Fed, when considering adjusting interest rates relies on this report, among others. and in such reliance is not cutting rates probably as much as they should as they think the economy is growing just fine.  Unfortunately the economy under Biden was presented as being much better than it was due to these cooked statistics.

No TDSers, The Helicopter - Jet Collision Is Not Trump's Fault

 The collision between a Blackhawk Helicopter and an American Airlines (flown by PSA Airlines) Regional Jet has brought all the anti-Trumpers out of the woodwork.

Those with severe Trump Derangement Syndrome are already blaming Trump for the accident - without any evidence. In some case ridiculously claiming it is due to chaos caused by Trump or his announcement ending DEI policies in government. This from many who should know better and are typically rational - except when it comes to Trump.

The NTSB will fully investigate and we will get answers in time. 

The DC area airspace is very congested and busy.  In fact a similar collision was narrowly averted the day before between a helicopter and a passenger jet.

So far, it appears to be likely the Blackhawk pilot was both flying above the appropriate corridor for helicopter traffic and the pilot identified the wrong aircraft.  The pilot apparently saw the departing one when the Tower Controller asked the pilot if the pilot had the traffic visually rather than the landing jet that was involved in the crash. Now,  the pilot responded they did have visual o the aircraft, which makes traffic separation primarily the pilot's responsibility at that point. Unfortunately, at night it appears the pilot identified the wrong aircraft and apparently did not have a visual on the PSA jet. 

The Tower controller meanwhile did not pick up on the fact that the Blackhawk was 200 feet above the 200 foot ceiling for helicopters in the area that put it in the flight path of the landing jet, nor did the helicopter pilot.

So were DEI policies to blame?  At this point it is quite simply too early to tell if those policies were a factor.

Indeed it is unknown if the controller or Blackhawk pilot were DEI-hires.  If they were there's going to be plenty of blame to go around. The Tower controller did not pick up on the fact that the Blackhawk was reportedly 200 feet outside of the appropriate flight path and in the flight path of the jet, and the helicopter pilot also seems to have made a series of mistakes leading to the incident.

Now, the Tower at Reagan is understaffed and apparently one controller was doing two jobs at the time of the incident which can lead to important things being overlooked and open the opportunity for accidents. Not hiring qualified white applicants to continue to try and find non-white DEI-scoring applicants may be a partial factor in the shortage of controllers.

In short, the full cause of the incident is not fully known and will not definitively be known until the NTSB completes its investigation. So no it cannot be definitively said what the cause was or if DEI was a factor in the crash but human factors certainly are the primary factor in this incident and DEI hiring doesn't enhance safety in aviation.

DEI has been reducing safety in aviation in a quest to hire a diverse workforce, reducing merit and aptitude as the key factor in hiring and repalcing it with diversity.

Did Biden and Obama adopt hiring polices based on DEI/Affirmative Action rather than merit and ability?  Yes, yes they did.

Did their administrations act in a way to hire unqualified controllers, including feeding Black applicants answers to the controller entrance exam to make sure they can pass the test and get hired?  Yes, yes they did.

Did the FAA even refuse to hire qualified applicants because they were white, while at the same time musing in presentations as to how much of a change in job performance is acceptable in performing diversity goals? Yes, yes they did.

In case you're wondering the answer to that question is that no change in job performance is acceptable  - you either can do the job competently or you cannot regardless of your race or background.  There are plenty of Black and female controllers that are more than fully capable and stand on their own merits and ability as controllers. That they were accepting lower performance in their quest to hire a DEI-workforce and get their ratios up is at the very least shameful and at worst horrific in reducing safety in a quest for DEI-compliance.

Time spent in DEI-sensitivity training could certainly be better spent on piloting skill improvement or aircraft controlling training.

So no, the collision is not President Trump's fault, and we don't know yet if or how much DEI hiring and focus was a factor in the incident.

The news hasn't picked up that in addition to Milley, Fauci, and the Jan 6 committee, Joe just preemptively pardoned a lot of his family members:

The MSN/Newsweek's "full list" isn't actually the full list of those pardoned, we'll have to wait for that to actually come out.  So far Cassidy Hutchinson whose hearsay testimony  we discussed before on this blog, the one who made the salacious claim that Trump tried to grab the steering wheel before the Jan 6 Committee and admitted she lied before the committee is not listed so far. Considering one of the potential claims against Liz Cheney is that she suborned Cassidy Hutchinson;s perjury before the committee, this may be interesitng.

While all those listed so far have been pardoned, it does make for an interesitng result in that none of therm can now can refuse to testify before investigative committees now as they no longer need fear being self incriminated as they cannot be prosecuted for their testimony.

That could get interesting.

Biden Talks Tough On Iran, Sends Them Another $10 Bilion

 The document includes four broad recommendations: improving U.S. government interagency cooperation, speeding up the sharing of information with allies about the four adversaries, calibrating the U.S. government's use of sanctions and other economic tools for maximum effectiveness, and bolstering preparation to manage simultaneous crises involving the adversaries.

Yet at the same time as this memo talks tough on Iran, the Biden administration is waiving sanctions and approving Iran getting $10 Billion dollars that it can use for more terrorism:

Can You Trust Any Statistic From The Biden-Harris Administration?

If the true statistic would make them look bad, the answer is clearly no.

We've seen the Bureau of Labor Statistics under Biden-Harris release, with great fanfare numbers showing job growth, and then the job numbers are quietly revised. Downward.  Every time, in some cases by 800,000 jobs after the good news is announced.

Now so too with the FBi and violent crime stats.

The FBI reported crime was down 2.1%, to benefit Democrats,

It has now quietly revised that decline to a 4.5% increase, which is quite a major and a notable increase.  Missed it by that much, I suppose,

Meanwhile, In The Red Sea

On Septemebr 27, US Naval forces in the area came under attack from a "complex"  attack from the Houthis.

Navy ships intercepted a Houthi barrage of missiles and drones launched from Yemen at the shipping lanes of the Red Sea, the Pentagon confirmed Friday, while also denying reports that any ships were hit in the attack.

“We did see a complex attack launched from the Houthis that ranged from cruise missiles and [unmanned aerial vehicles],” said Sabrina Singh, deputy press secretary for the Defense Department.

The Iran-backed Houthi claimed Friday to have damaged three U.S. Navy warships in a bombardment of 23 missiles and bomber drones. The Navy destroyers, the Houthis’ military spokesperson said in a televised speech, were targeted as they transited the Bab al-Mandeb Strait in the Red Sea. The Bab al-Mandeb Strait connects the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden, between Yemen.

Sure would be nice if instead of passively and simply absorbing attacks (with rather spendy anti-missile missiles, not to mention the risk of an enemy weapon getting through and killing or injuring Americans), the rules of engagement were changed to allow the US Navy to proactively engage the launchersand those firing them before the weapons were fired at the ships.  

I daresay some renewed deterrence and an application of Finding Out to the Houthis of the consequences of flinging missiles and drones at the US Navy would be most appropriate at this time and is long overdue.

Surprise! (Not!) BLS Does Yet Another Huge Downward Jobs Revision

Throughout President Biden's term in office, the Bureau of Labor Statistics are released with great fanfare showing job growth, and then the job numbers are quietly revised. Downward, Every single time.

Now, the latest downward revision is a doozy.

On Wednesday morning, the Bureau of Labor Statistics announced a preliminary benchmark revision to the number of nonfarm payrolls from April 2023 through March 2024. According to the report, the number of new jobs added to the economy during this period was revised downward by 818,000.

That's the biggest downward revision during the Biden Administration yet. Indeed it is the biggest revision in 15 years.

That the BLS has clearly been politicized to loudly announce job growth happy-talk so it can be trumpeted by Biden et al, and then quietly walked back to make the Biden Administration look good is pretty much beyond question at this point. 

One major problem is the false statistics of such job growth made the Fed think it needed to keep interest rates up to fight inflation and the rate increases were not hurting the economy as jobs were still being created in record numbers defying normal expectaitons.  But they were not.

How to Lie With Statistics (a book everyone should read or at least listen to on Audible to become a better critical thinker IMHO) is not supposed to be a how-to manual. 

The Biden Administration just seems to outright and repeatedly lie about job growth statistics. What other statistics (cough, inflation!, cough) are they also cooking the books on?

Slow Joe Had To Go

So the sun sets on Joe Biden's candidacy in the race for 2024.

From "He's Fine, He Just Had a Bad Night" to being shown the door in  less than 30 days. Even as late as Friday they were swearing he was still in the race and the nominee.

So did he fall, or was he pushed? 

The Biden White House was rather like the Kremlin with Kremlinologists being needed to track which faction was in power and setting policy behind the figurehead that was Joe Biden. This will be even more interesting as the jockeying for his replacement becomes more intense.

Interestingly, he did not immediately come out and endorse Kamala Harris in his resignation announcement.  Instead, that endorsement came later on Twitter. So probably a Kamala backer has control over the Twitter account for the moment. Or, alternatively she's being the sacrificial candidate (but with access to the money in the Biden-Harris campaign cookie jar) for what the Dems know will be a losing campaign in 2024.

It's going to be interesting to see who the Democrat party elite decides to run now that Joe has been shown the door.  Be sure to have popcorn at the ready for the Democrat convention.

The fun question that also needs to be asked is: If Joe Biden is acknowledged to no longer be fit and cannot handle running for reelection due to his age and infirmities, why the heck is he still staying on as President?

As The (Figurative) Knives Come Out, It's Back To The Basement For Joe

When even Obama is starting to suggest Joe needs to go, you can tell the preference shift is underway and the party elite has gone from "Joe is just fine." to "How quick can he be pressured to step down?".

Democrats more and more are reading the tea leaves and the polls and realizing Joe is going to be a no-go.

So of course, in the middle of this preference shift, he conveniently comes down with Covid and instead of going to the White House (and the finest possible medical facilities close by), he goes home to the basement in Delaware. 

Well, his retreating to the basement, instead of being out in public to campaign and to be seen in person, should cut down on public gaffes and public signs of ineptness for him to campaign from the basement as he did in the last election.

Gradually, Then Suddenly

Democrats denied for years claims that Biden had cognitive difficulties.

They were agog and aghast when the special counsel noted he shouldn't be prosecuted as he's an elderly man with a poor memory. Instead they publicly all claimed he was just fine: Democrats flood the Sunday shows to insist Biden's mind is just fine.

Then after the debate, when it was abundantly clear that after the Democrats and media covering for him and making excuses for years, it couldn't be hidden any more from the public.

The Democrats went from being in lock-step and insisting that he's fine, to now a majority of Democrats wanting him to drop out.

Now it veers on a full on preference cascade for the Democrats to replace him with someone else:  The Detroit News:  Nearly two-thirds of Democrats want Biden to withdraw, new AP-NORC poll finds

The list of Democrat politicians calling for him to step aside keeps getting longer as well. 

So how does Joe Biden get removed from being the Democrat nominee?  As is oft then case in these situations, gradually, then suddenly.

Thank goodness that nothing of import ever happens after 8 p.m. that might impact the running of this country.

Forget about the implications of the effort going on by Democrats now to pressure Biden to drop out of the race to save democracy after he has already been democratically selected as their candidate. 

More importantly, is Biden even capable of acting as President right now?

That Excuse Just Won't Fly

"I didn't have my best night," Biden told supporters. "I wasn't very smart. I decided to travel around the world a couple of times, going through I don't how many times zones.

"I didn't listen to my staff. And then I came back and I nearly fell asleep on stage," Biden said, prompting laughs from some of the donors. “It’s not an excuse but an explanation."

Except it is neither.

Biden spent 6 days at Camp David after his "travel around the world"  doing nothing but resting up and preparing for his debate performance.

The leader of the free world can't handle a debate (where he very well may have even been slipped the questions in advance) and is blaming his performance on being too tired due to travel that took place before 6 days of rest and relaxation. 

If he can't function appropriately due to being too tired after six days of rest and preparation, how the heck is he capable of handling day-to-day matters, not to mention the crises of the office?

Israelis Rescue 4 Hostages - Kamala Commiserates With Hamas

Israel's National Police Hostage Rescue Unit,YAMAM, along with supporting forces, just pulled off a stunning coordinated rescue of 4 hostages in two separate locations within the Gaza Strip.

Now named Operation Arnon, after the 34-year old Yamam Commander Arnon Zamora killed during the rescue operation, the rescue mission successfully retrieved 4 hostages held by Hamas since October 7.  Hamas in this case includes a Hamas journalist that works for Al Jazeera and the Palestine Chronicle (a media organization with ties to the USA) who held the hostages in his house. he won;t be holding anyone hostage ever again, nor spouting propaganda anymore either.

So, of course, the Biden Administration sends Kamala out to kiss up to the pro-Hamas Islamists that they are counting on for support in November in Michigan, Minnesota and elsewhere:

The BBC tried to top that stupidity by asking the IDF spokesman why the IDF didn't warn the Gazans ahead of time about the raid.  Yes, the bint really seriously asked that.

Be sure to take the Hamas-run Health Ministry claims of casualties with a ton of salt. We know they lie, they know they lie, the media reporting the figures know they lie, and yet they still credulously report them, verbatim, as truth.

After all, if Hamas and Gaza doesn't want casualties, they can end this by releasing all the hostages.  If they don't want civilian casualties they can quit fighting from behind civilians and quit using "civilians" to keep the hostages prisoner.

An outstanding rescue operation by the IDF, Border Police, and intelligence agencies.

Pier Today, Gone Tomorrow

So the US JLOTS pier off of Gaza, designed to funnel in further aid (and try to shore up Islamic votes for Biden) has broken up and is no more for now.

The same pier that Hamas fired mortars at while it was being built and from which all the aid delivered was stolen by Hamas et al as soon as it got off the pier.  Per the Pentagon, NONE of the 569 tons aid was delivered to the broader civilian population of Gaza. As in Zero.

So yes, the United States just spent $320 million and a few military casualties (thankfully not fatalities) to deliver 569 tons of sustenance and supplies to a US-listed terrorist organization to keep it in the fight against Israel.

Heckuva job there Biden Administration.

Biden's Secret Talks With Iran To Undermine An Ally

The Biden Administration, continuing the Obama administration's shift to appeasing Iran, has now been revealed to have been busy having secret talks with Iran about throwing Israel under the bus:

Secret talks between Iran and the United States in Oman were making good progress, but have now been jeopardised by the sudden death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and his foreign minister.

Brett McGurk, US President Joe Biden's senior Middle East adviser, held indirect negotiations earlier this month with Ali Bagheri Kani, Iran’s point man for negotiations with the West, according to three Iranian sources close to the talks.

The talks focused on three subjects: a shared desire for a change in government in Israel; ending Israel’s war on Gaza; and preventing the conflict from spreading elsewhere in the region.

So, this administration has been busy talking and plotting with an avowed theocratic dictatorship and enemy of the USA about changing an allied democratically-elected government and to make Israel to lose the war started by Iranian-backed Hamas to save Hamas and maintain Iran's influence in the region.

This appeasement with Iran, along with wanting the Islamist vote in Michigan and Minnesota, sure explains some of the Biden Administration's latest actions in depriving Israel of weapons and supplies.

Biden continues to be toadying up to the Iranian regime, the same regime that organizes chants of death to America and has been directly and indirectly involved via its proxies in terrorism, attacks on shipping, attacks on Americans  and killing of Americans.

If you're Jewish and you continue to support Biden after this latest revelation, you're a deluded moron at best, and a progressive Kapo at worst.  If you're otherwise an American that continues to support Biden as he appeases an avowed enemy of America, I have some questions for you, too.

Biden Cuts Off Weapons To Israel, Arms Hizb'allah

The day before Biden announced he was blocking weapons going to Israel, he issued a waiver to allow weapons to be delivered to Lebanon - meaning they will go to Hizballah, the same organization that killed 241 US Marines and CIA station chief William Buckley, and to Qatar, a leading support of Hamas.

This is the Biden administration deciding to align with Islamist terrorists and killers of Americans over an ally. We'll note that Hamas is still holding 6 American citizens hostage even now and Biden is bent on Hamas remaining as a force in being rather than letting the Israelis finish the job.

Hamas Agreed To A Ceasefire Proposal It Negotiated Without Israel

While Hamas trumpeted to the world, right after it rocketed and mortared the Kerem Shalom crossing from Rafah, that it had (finally) accepted a ceasefire proposal, that proposal had not come from Israel nor had Israel agreed to it.

In reading the text of the proposal that Hamas has loudly agreed to, a cursory reading shows that it quite simply sucks.

Heck, this proposal doesn't just suck, it's well nigh ridiculous, and that the Biden Administration would seriously back this show's they're getting desperate to get a win back the Islamist and progressive votes that are threatening not to vote for him if he doesn't side with Hamas.

This proposal sure as heck sides with Hamas:

The main outrage is this proposal for the initial release of hostages:

During the first phase, Hamas shall release 33 Israeli captives (alive or dead), including women (civilians and soldiers), children (under the age of 19 who are not soldiers), those over the age of 50, and the sick, in exchange for a number of prisoners in Israeli prisons and detention centres, according to the following [criteria]:

• Hamas shall release all living Israeli captives, including civilian women and children (under the age of 19 who are not soldiers). In return, Israel shall release 30 children and women for every Israeli detainee released, based on lists provided by Hamas, in order of detention.
• Hamas shall release all living Israeli captives (over the age of 50), the sick, and wounded civilians. In return, Israel shall release 30 elderly (over 50) and sick prisoners for every Israeli captive, based on lists provided by Hamas, in order of detention.
• Hamas shall release all living Israeli female soldiers. In return, Israel shall release 50 prisoners (30 serving life sentences, 20 sentenced) for every Israeli female soldier, based on lists provided by Hamas.

Note well the alive or dead part. Hamas apparently added that part.

So all Hamas has to do is turn over 33 dead bodies and it gets back 30-50 live terrorists for each of the 33 bodies - including 30 of those being returned currently doing life sentences which don't get handed out in Israel for nothing - we're talking murderers and mass murderers here.

That alone would and should be a non-starter in any sane person's mind for the deal. Pity Israel can't respond back by saying that it will return 30-50 "alive or dead for each hostage Hamas hands over, but the world would have a massive fit - while they think Hamas offering this is just fine.

It also requires from the outset an Israeli withdrawal and giving up the positions it has taken in Gaza, which frees up Hamas movement to establish its terrorist infrastructure.

-[Herein] a temporary cessation of military operations between the two parties, and the withdrawal of Israeli forces eastward and away from densely populated areas to a defined area along the border all along the Gaza Strip (including Wadi Gaza, known as the Netzarim Corridor, and Kuwait Roundabout, as below).

On top of that, it requires Israel not to perform reconnaissance flights over Gaza so Israel can't see what Hamas is doing and reforming during the ceasefire as they prepare to attack Israel again.

-All aviation (military and reconnaissance) in the Gaza Strip shall cease for 10 hours a day, and for 12 hours on the days when captives and prisoners are being exchanged.

The proposal is ridiculous.  It's designed to let Hamas, the aggressor and the loser in this war dictate terms and claim that it has won and get terorists back in exchange for bodies.

Hamas trumpeting that it had agreed to the proposal after consistently rejecting any reasonable ceasefire deal is a PR stunt for the credulous to make Hamas look good and allow pressure to be placed on Israel to accept such a ridiculous deal on the grounds that Hamas has accepted it.

Effective January 1 this year, having multiple students in college does not effect you expected financial contribution.

No more.   Now with the same income you're EFC is $25,000 per student so you need to come up with twice as much as the calculation used to require.
