So, Did We Have Coronavirus Before Coronavirus Was Cool?

Just got a message from Abby's pediatrician that when the antibody test for Covid-19 is available, she'd like Abby to come in and get tested for the presence of the antibody.

You see, Abby in December came down with a flu-like illness that threw her for a complete loop lasting almost 2 weeks. It was diagnosed as an upper respiratory infection, and was not influenza as the influenza test at the time came back negative. Apparently her high fever, cough, and shortness of breath are consistent with a case of coronavirus.

Leah got hit with it as well and was sick, but not as badly as Abby, and both Tash and I also popped fevers, coughs, and were feeling lousy then as well.

Since Abby goes to a pretty international school, and, get this, she has and sits together with a friend who had actually traveled to Wuhan to visit family. Her friend came back from that trip with quite a cough in December, all before this had made the news.

I'd say the chances are pretty fair to middling that we've already been exposed and had this thing.

Be interesting to see what an antibody test will show.

It is likely that the virus was here shortly after Thanksgiving.

Living in a city with a large Chinese student population. My wife had a persistent up and down fever with a difficult pneumonia to treat. She's finally fine.

But what's interesting is more and more people are reporting, like your daughter and my wife, having a weird persistent flu-like illness in late December to mid February, before all the panic and tests were available. Doctors just treated the secondary infections, and everyone so far has gotten better.

Makes me wonder exactly how many have already been affected, and how really non-deadly the Wuhan Corona virus is?

My thoughts are with you, let us know how it goes.

You are highly thought of. Hold that idea close.
