A Not So Peaceful Hood, That

An event entitled "Peace in The Hood" was held in Boynton Beach, Florida.

So of course this event promoting peace was disrupted by a shooting with 4 victims and others injured in the ensuing panic.

25WPBF: Fourth suspect arrested in 'Peace in the Hood' shooting

Hardly unexpected event, that.

Just A Little Jan 6 Committee Irony

A bit of weirdness out of the January 6 Committee report regarding Ryan Kelly, a Michigan Republican politician that was running for Governor in the 2022 election, was present Jan 6 and running for office and thus arrested by the FBi on misdemeanor charges to hamper his gubernatorial run - nothing at all political about that, of course.

Here's where it gets a tad interesting: The Detroit News: Under oath, Ryan Kelley refused to identify himself in Jan. 6 videos

The Detroit News story, and the committee report, is all agog and aghast that Ryan Kelly refused to identify before the committee if a video did in fact show him at the Capitol doing stupid stuff.

Now, Kelly did sorta, kinda, take the Fifth before the Committee on that quesiton, but not exactly correctly, as you can read in the article. But, regardless, he refused to answer the question to identify if the person on the video was him all the same.

So, there's all this umbrage about the failure of Kelly to identify himself by a committee official.

So, now that you have the background, the story gives a nice bit of irony:

"Mr. Kelley, how would answering that question impede your ability to peaceably assemble? It's a video of a thing that happened more than a year ago," an official with the U.S. House committee asked him at one point during the exchange.

Later, an official with the U.S. House committee said Kelley was stating his "opinion of what the Fifth Amendment is."

"But I will again note for the record that the witness has refused to answer the question, and he's refused to raise a recognized privilege as a reason for refusing to answer the question," the official said.

The official's name was redacted in the transcript.

Yep,  all this outrage over Kelly's failure to identify himself, and the "official" asking that line of questions has been redacted and unidentified in the report and their identity is a complete mystery.

You can't make that kind of irony up.

The Irony Of Detroit Gun Violence Interventionists

In the Detroit Free Press, there's an article about a rally against gun violence, as they are of course blaming guns for criminal's actions and the fact that criminal violence and assaults, often over trivial matters are very much on the rise in the D.

The Detroit Free Press: Shootings over simple disputes on the rise, Detroit interventionists say

It's mostly pay-walled, but the photos accompanying the article are not.

The irony of course is because of one of the featured speakers depicted in the article:

Sam Riddle.

Sam Riddle talking against gun violence.

The very same Sam Riddle who himself was sentenced to two years for firing off a shotgun in a "simple dispute" - being caught in bed with another woman by his "live in companion" and then shooting at his companion with a shotgun.

So yes, Sam Riddle would surely know all about inappropriately using guns during a simple dispute.

In the D, even violent felonies, even involving firearms and violence against women - two things Democrats profess to be against - don't stop Democrat politicians from being considered respected (and of course paid) heads of Democrat organizations rather than placed beyond the pale for their actions.

You just can't make this up.

The Left Finally Vandalises An Actual Nazi Monument

It took them long enough, with much time busily taken up by defacing monuments to Lincoln, Grant, Churchill, and others, but the antifa-types have finally found an actual monument honoring Nazis to deface.

In Canada.

The Ottawa Citizen: Graffiti on memorial to Nazi SS division now being investigated as vandalism

Yes, the monument does indeed honor the Ukrainians of the 14th Waffen Grenadier (1st Galicia) SS Division, who were shipped over en masse to Canada at the end of World War 2.

The monument is a private one in Oakville, Ontario (near-ish Toronto) Oakville on the the grounds of the St. Volodymyr Ukrainian Cemetery. The Toronto area has a very large Ukrainian community, many of them the actual SS members of the division or their descendants.

Adding to the irony, the vandalism when it was first discovered was initially being investigated as an anti-Ukrainian hate crime.

George Takei Said What?

Some lefties really have no sense of irony, nor of self-reflection, nor history for that matter.

One would think George Takei -- of all people would not be one to go all-in for the panic-induced overbroad restricting of freedoms and the locking down of people in the name of public safety.
