Paging Mr Terrorist

 So, in a rather ingenious operation, most likely by the Israelis, took place yesterday and today, with pagers owned by Hizballah terrorists simultaneously exploding in their hands or at their belts when they got a page.  As a result, the Israelis have now removed at least some of the balls from Hizballah given the location of many of the pagers when they went off.  The terrorist group may need to rename themselves Hizah for accuracy as their balls are gone.

Since Hizah has been firing rockets daily at Israel, it's only appropriate that Israel hit back in a smart way that may in addition to emasculating them possibly have removed some of their trigger fingers.  The Iranian ambassador to Lebanon also happend to be in possession of a Hizballah pager - funny, that.

In addition to pagers, it now seems some of the terrorist group's walkie-talkies and even solar panels were also impacted and have been exploding.

Since the pagers were passed out by the head of Hizballah to his trusted aides and members out of fear that their cell phone network had been compromised, the pagers themselves have now been explosively compromised.

And as summed up by the Mossad Satirical page:

That's a few more high-level terrorists and terrorist associates removed from the board.  

We'll note that Hizballah does not only attack Israel. It was Hizballah that was behind the Marine Barracks bombing and the US Embassy and the kidnapping, torture and murder of CIA station chief William Francis Buckley, and more recent attacks as well.  

So, those pages were certainly on point.

Being stupid can have consequences.     

Making your own homemade explosive device and then bringing it to school to show it off is the very definition of stupid. 

Having it go off in your hands while doing so, and losing both thumbs and injuring 4 other students and a teacher in the boom that resulted is a sad consequence of immense explosive stupidity.

Really, don't try this at home (or school) folks.

The Detroit News: Bloomfield Township man finds out novelty land mine could have been real

After receiving what he thought was an inert gag landmine, the buyer got an email from the company that sold it that it may instead be live.

Whether the item or the email or both was the gag is an open question. The State Police secured it and likely in a preventative manner blew it up. No reports as to whether it was actually a live mine, but in any case, it's no longer his.

Call it a premature explosion, call it exploding with happiness, call it finding out what that button does.

Any way you name it, a bunch of members of Al Qaeda in Iraq just managed to blow themselves up real good.

Notice how the AP labels people making car bombs and suicide vests designed to go off in crowded civilian areas "militants". Even that linguistic bias supporting the enemy can't take away from the happy gist of the story:

Militants accidentally set off their own car bomb Monday at a training camp in the countryside north of Baghdad, leaving 21 dead and resulting in two dozen arrests, Iraqi officials said.

A police officer said the militants were attending a lesson on making car bombs and explosive belts when a glitch set off one of the devices.

The officer said security forces rushed to the area after hearing the sound of the explosion. They arrested 12 wounded suspected militants plus another 10 trying to flee the area.

Security forces found seven car bombs, several explosive belts and roadside bombs after searching two houses and a garage in the orchard, he said.

Oh those wacky Iraqis, always going out with a bang.

It's Tough Being An Al-Qaeda #2

Yet another Al Qaeda #2 man has gone to his just desserts, apparently via drone-fired missile.

The Detroit News: Al-Qaida's No. 2 in Yemen killed in airstrike

An airstrike killed al-Qaida's No. 2 leader in Yemen along with five others traveling with him in one car on Monday, senior Yemeni Defense Ministry officials reported. If confirmed, Saeed al-Shihri's death would be a major blow to the militant group.

The officials said the missile that killed al-Shihri, a Saudi national, was believed to have been fired by a U.S. operated drone, but that couldn't immediately be confirmed. The U.S. doesn't usually comment on such attacks although it has used drones in the past to go after al-Qaida members in Yemen.

That makes at least 30 Al Qaeda #2s zapped. Not exactly a job with a lot of longevity or viable prospects for promotion, nor chances to collect on the pension plan.

The most recently appointed Al Qaeda #1, Ayman al-Zawahiri, reminiscing on the losses of this slew of #2s allegedly tearfully stated while furtively scanning the sky:

"Yes, they blow up so fast, don't they?"

John Ringo on Facebook commented that with the death of Al-Qaeda #2 Abu Yahya al-Libi, in Pakistan on Monday, he is the 29th Al Qaeda #2 that has met an early demise since taking on the job.

I daresay it's the Peter Principle for Al Qaeda: You rise to the level of your own drone strike.
