Possible Lebanon Ceasefire Agreement As IDF Reaches The Litani

Israel fought through Hezbollah and reached the Litani river in Lebanon yesterday.

This is rather a big deal.  The reason is that Hezbollah, per UN Security Council Resolution 1701 that ended the 2006 Lebanon War, was supposed to remain north of the Litani with nothing but the Lebanese Army and UNIFIL deployed south of the Litani.  Obviously Hezbollah ignored the resolution and it was unenforced - until now, by Israel.

So now, Hezbollah wants a ceasefire after launching thousands of rockets at Israel since October 7 of last year and finding out that was not a good choice on their part as Israel decapitated their leadership, destroyed their weapon depots and have been nailing their positions in Southern Lebanon and driving them across the Litani.

Assuming Hezbollah actually abides by the terms of the proposed ceasefire it would achieve the majority of Israel's aims in this conflict -  Hezbollah would have to actually stay north of the Litani, and stop shooting missiles at Israel so Israelis living in the north of Israel who have been displaced by the rocket and artillery fire since last October could come home. 

We will see if the ceasefire is implemented and how long it lasts before  Hezbollah starts breaking the terms - and if the world will try and stop Israel from enforcing the agreement, which is apparently a sticking point.

From De-Ballification To Decapitation

Hezbollah has now confirmed what Israel has already announced - that their leader, Hassan Nasrallah, has been killed in an Israeli airstrike that hit his bunker placed under a civilian residence in the Dahiyeh district in Lebanon.

That makes almost the entire command structure and leadership of Hezbollah being eliminated in this action, leaving the terrorist organization effectively decapitated. Thousands of their middle management have effectively been paged out of action as well.

I wonder if Hezbollah is regretting firing thousands of rockets at Israel since October 7 of last year, as well as regretting the rocket attack that killed 12 Druze children in Israel that really got Israel understandably cross with them.  Not to mention their plan for a mass rocket attack on Israel that Israel preempted, leading to this current battle.

Apparently, Iran, the puppeteer behind Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis, has just announced that their leader Ayatollah Khamenei has decided to go hide in an undisclosed "secure" location.

Hezbollah, as Arab and Islamic terrorist and military groups tend to do stores its munitions in homes, hospitals, schools, and other locations that normally would be protected under the Geneva Convention,

However, once you use these sites for military purposes such as storing weapons, launching weapons, or as a military headquarters, they lose their protected status and are valid military targets.

Here for example is a nice home south of the Litani river in Lebanon used by Hezbollah as a weapons depot. Since Hezbollah isn't supposed to be south of the Litani - they've been violating the ceasefire agreement and UN Resolution 1701 since the day it was written in 2006, these are certainly valid military targets, especially as Hezbollah has been using them to launch rockets and missiles at Israel on a daily basis.

Get a load of all those secondary explosions. They had that house packed to the gills.

So, the next time someone claims Israel is bombing houses and thus committing war crimes you may want to point out they are not bombing houses but home depots.  That is not a war crime by Israel but the result of a violation of the laws of war by Hezbollah.

Paging Mr Terrorist

 So, in a rather ingenious operation, most likely by the Israelis, took place yesterday and today, with pagers owned by Hizballah terrorists simultaneously exploding in their hands or at their belts when they got a page.  As a result, the Israelis have now removed at least some of the balls from Hizballah given the location of many of the pagers when they went off.  The terrorist group may need to rename themselves Hizah for accuracy as their balls are gone.

Since Hizah has been firing rockets daily at Israel, it's only appropriate that Israel hit back in a smart way that may in addition to emasculating them possibly have removed some of their trigger fingers.  The Iranian ambassador to Lebanon also happend to be in possession of a Hizballah pager - funny, that.

In addition to pagers, it now seems some of the terrorist group's walkie-talkies and even solar panels were also impacted and have been exploding.

Since the pagers were passed out by the head of Hizballah to his trusted aides and members out of fear that their cell phone network had been compromised, the pagers themselves have now been explosively compromised.

And as summed up by the Mossad Satirical page:

That's a few more high-level terrorists and terrorist associates removed from the board.  

We'll note that Hizballah does not only attack Israel. It was Hizballah that was behind the Marine Barracks bombing and the US Embassy and the kidnapping, torture and murder of CIA station chief William Francis Buckley, and more recent attacks as well.  

So, those pages were certainly on point.

When even the UN says Lebanon is wrong in the border incident, you know Lebanon must be really wrong.

Lebanon, Israel clash at border

Lebanese Army troops initiated an attack on Israeli Defense Forces soldiers by sniping and killing an Israeli colonel and critically wounding a captain over 300 meters inside Israel while Israelis worked on clearing a tree from the border fence area on the Israeli side of the border. The fighting then escalated but ow seems to have calmed down.

Amazingly, UNIFIL (United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon) is not blaming Israel for the incident:

Tuesday's clashes began after an Israeli soldier tried to remove a tree along the border, something the military has done in the past to improve its sightlines into Lebanon.

But both sides claimed the tree was in their territory. An Associated Press photo shows an Israeli standing on a crane reaching over the fence that Israel erected to separate the two countries. The fence, however, does not match the Blue Line in all places, and the Israeli military said in a statement that the tree was in Israeli territory.

"It was over the fence but still within Israeli territory," the military spokesman's office said. He said the tree cutting was coordinated with the U.N. peacekeeping force in south Lebanon, UNIFIL.

Its an historic moment when the UN takes Israel's side over Lebanon so it certainly shows the Lebanese Army was way out of line on this one.

Terrorist scum released by Israel get heroes welcome from Lebanese

Israel certainly does not live in a nice neighborhood.

Just look at the heroes welcome cop-killer and child murderer Samir Kuntar received in Lebanon today. Greeted by a crowd of thousands cheering this scum on.

Not only by Hezballah, but also by the "moderate" Lebanese Government.

"Your return is a new victory," President Michel Suleiman told the freed men as he stood in combat fatigues supplied by Hezbollah in what was meant to display its unending fight against Israel. Suleiman, who was supported by all factions for election to his post, congratulated Hezbollah "for this new achievement."

Prime Minister Fuad Saniora, a leader of pro-American factions that had to accept Hezbollah and its allies in a new unity government after the street fighting, did not attend the rally. But he was seen kissing the five freed men in greeting at Beirut airport.

After drowning Danny [the father] in the sea in front of Einat (as Ahmed Al-Brass, Mhanna Salim Al-Muayed, and Abdel Majeed Asslan served as look outs and backup cover for Kuntar), Kuntar turned his attention towards the 4 year-old. He took his rifle and then swung it across the toddler's head, knocking her to the ground. Kuntar then dragged the toddler a couple of feet to the closest rock he could find and laid her head down on a rock, with the intention of crushing it with the butt of his rifle. Einat, instinctively covered her head with her arms, Kuntar struggled with the toddler until he finally managed to clear her arms out of the way. Once her arms were out of the way, Kuntar repeatedly beat her on the head with the butt of his rifle and stomping on her body, until blood rushed out of her ears and mouth. Then, to ensure she was dead, Kuntar continued beating her over the head until her skull was crushed and she was dead.

Animals. My sympathy for the non-Hezballah people of Lebanon just dropped a lot. For all their talk of being pro-western, when it comes to killing Jews thye have no problem uniting with Hezballah. The next time Hezballah kidnaps Israelis and sparks off another way, these people will have to live with the consequences.
