So this morning on the way into work, traffic is for some reason really jammed up in my direction but flowing freely in the other.
Is it an accident?
Nope.
Some bit of pop-up construction to further immiserate drivers dealing with all the other construction blockages around the area?
Nah.
Instead, the township in the area decided at rush hour to pull a seat belt enforcement zone on a major street leading to the highway and some very major roads.
Sure enough, farther up beyond the sign they have an officer standing there peering in people's windows.
Nice way to mess with traffic during rush hour there guys.

IT's for your own good, Komrade.
Any good capitalist lawyer would have pulled over just past them and began handing out business cards. Just saying...
You mean a revenue enhancement zone, right?
Ouch, that is a below average in headwork...
ML: The problem is they didn't have anyone pulled over -- at all, spo no business opportunities there. Pretty much everyone on that particular road is smart enough to wear a seat-belt without the need for a checkpoint.
PH: We get deer sometimes, never seen a cow on the road here.
B: Apparently, but quite the waste of resources. It would have about as useful to call it a tiger prevention checkpoint, as sure enough, there were no tigers to be found so it must have worked.
Scott: The sad part is I don't think they even got any revenue off of it, certainly not enough to make up for the blocked traffic and paying for the officers to man it.
Old NFO; Yep, I think it was out of enthusiasm to do something, and that was something.
