There Are No Walmarts In Iran

Only Targets.

President Trump ordered a successful strike of  Iran's nuclear facilities.

6 B-2 bombers dropped MOP bombs on Fordow and Natanz

All aircraft involved have returned safely, thanks to excellent planning. stealth, and Israel systematical dismantling Iran's air defense systems, with the B-2s landing back in the United States after a 36-hour mission.

FoxNews: A full breakdown of Operation Midnight Hammer, the 'largest B-2 operational strike in US history'

Hopefully, this sets back Iran's nuclear ambitions for quite some time, making it's nuclear programs pronouns was/were - at least for the immediate future.

Well done Mr. President.  The strike has been years overdue.

The Day The Land Of The Rising Sun

Became The Land of The Rising Suns.

Today is variously known as:

"Don't Start a War if You Can't Take A Joke Day!"

"Do Not Touch The Boats Day!"

"Now Look What You Made Me Do Day!"

"Happy Enola Gay Pride Day!".

It was 79 years ago today that the Enola Gay did the best and biggest gender reveal ever when it showed Japan and the world that America had a Little Boy.

Iran Fires Ballistic Missiles At US Consulate

Displays of weakness and a policy and acts of appeasement tends to breed contempt from the party being appeased and viewing the weakness.

New York Post: Ballistic missiles fired at US consulate in Iraq

Up to a dozen ballistic missiles launched from Iran were fired early Sunday morning towards the US consulate in Iraq’s Kurdistan region capital of Erbil, officials said.

. . .

Negotiation talks in Vienna, Austria surrounding America’s potential return to the 2015 Iran nuclear deal broke up without an agreement on Friday after new Russian demands scrambled the talks.'

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard, claimed responsibility, so we have a military wing of the government of Iran admitting to attacking a United States Consulate:

Ballistic missiles hit Iraq's Kurdish capital, Iran's Revolutionary Guard claim responsibility

So after Biden bends over backwards to end sanctions against Iran, and begs them to pump more oil, and appeases Iran by rushing the USA to rejoin a  terrible agreement that will essentially pave the way for Iran to get nuclear weapons, Iran appreciates these acts by firing ballistic missiles -- that could potentially carry such nuclear weapons -- at a US consulate.

Apparently, Biden couldn't appease them quickly enough.

Be interesting to see if the Biden Administration will levy any penalty beyond calling it an "outrageous attack" for such actions against Iran or have the US continue on its path to appeasement, or perhaps appease faster.

Go Home Huff Po, You're Drunk, Or Stoned, Or Both

Progressive media gets all sorts of strange sometimes.

The proggies' obsession with the chimera of Climate Change can take them to some really bad places.

For example this article from the HuffPost with its hopeful sounding headline and serious article that they decided was worth running with:

Could A Small Nuclear War Reverse Global Warming?

Blink.

This is rather insane, and almost as helpful as the Biden administration's update to a nuclear war survival guidelines to add Covid avoidance advice after a nuclear bomb blast.

A quick tip:  Both Covid and Global Warming will be, if they are not already, of extremely low actual concern after an actual nuclear war.

Let's also note that Global Cooling so helpfully recounted in the article as a likely outcome of a nuclear war, was roundly stated to be a bad thing (and a reason for Western unilateral disarmament as pushed by the Progressive Left back then).  Remmeber the projected horros of Nuclear Winter?

This lasted until the Left jumped on the Global Warming band wagon, which has since been reformulated as unfalsifiable Climate Change to sell better.

Not sure what they're smokin' and drinkin' at the Huff Po but it's rather potent and packed with progressive fantasies.

YGTBSM Bureaucrat Edition: FEMA Updates Nuclear War Survival Guidelines With COVID Considerations

Many around the world bemoan that they live under an Oligarchy, rule by the wealthy. They're lucky by comparison.  Under the Biden Administration, we instead get to live under a Kakistocracy.

Yes,  FEMA did just helpfully update Nuclear War guidelines.  They updated it by adding a major focus of protecting yourself from Covid during a nuclear attack with such helpful hints as staying 6 feet away from other inhabitants of your shelter and wearing a mask when rescuers arrive.

Yes, this is real, and it's not fabulous. Checkout ready.gov:

GET INSIDE

Get inside the nearest building to avoid radiation. Brick or concrete are best.

Remove contaminated clothing and wipe off or wash unprotected skin if you were outside after the fallout arrived. Hand sanitizer does not protect against fall out. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth, if possible. Do not use disinfectant wipes on your skin.

Go to the basement or middle of the building. Stay away from the outer walls and roof. Try to maintain a distance of at least six feet between yourself and people who are not part of your household. If possible, wear a mask if you’re sheltering with people who are not a part of your household. Children under two years old, people who have trouble breathing, and those who are unable to remove masks on their own should not wear them.

STAY INSIDE

Stay inside for 24 hours unless local authorities provide other instructions. Continue to practice social distancing by wearing a mask and by keeping a distance of at least six feet between yourself and people who not part of your household.

I daresay, if there's a nuclear frickin' attack, a virus with a 99.97% or better survival rate will be pretty much dead last in a list of our worries and pressing concerns.

Rule by the worst definitely has its drawbacks.

It Looks Like The P-8 Poseidons Are Going To Be Busy

The Detroit News: N. Korea appears to fire submarine-launched missile

Submarine ballistic missile launching capability in the hands of a nuclear-capable rogue state that has threatened to nuke the US and South Korea, what could possibly go wrong?

Assuming this isn't more communist make-believe theater, Noirth korea just got a whole lot more dangerous to areas outside its immediate neighborhood.

We're gonna need more P-8s.

Obama's Historic Iran Deal Is A Historic Disaster For The US

This deal is going to go down with Chamberlain's Munich moment as yet another failure by the Western democracies to achieve peace by appeasement.

The Detroit News: Historic Iran nuclear deal reached

So desperate was Obama and Jerry to make a deal that the inspection terms while nice sounding are meaningless - Iran can block and delay them with plenty of time to hide the evidence of violations while keeping its program intact as well as an infusion of billions of dollars to not just drive its nuclear program forward but to project its interests and terror far beyond its borders.

On top of that, so eager were the Western powers to make the deal that the deal amazingly and gratuitously "even lifts sanctions against Quds Force Commander Qasem Soleimani, who is responsible for the deaths of hundreds of American soldiers during the campaign in Iraq."

Another way you absolutely know this is a historically bad deal - Obama is putting more effort into threatening Republicans in Congress to ensure the deal passes than he put in to ensure the Iranians will comply with curbing their nuclear weapon ambitions.

The Detroit News: Obama warns Congress not to stand in way of Iran deal

This is not going to end well at all.

When Canada Was A Nuclear Power

A post by the esteemed Vodkapundit on the Genie missile sure brings back some history.

Many people don't realize this, but for a brief period, our peaceful neighbor to the north was a nuclear power.

Yes, the Canucks had nukes.

Canada had CF-101 Voodoo Interceptors equipped with nuclear-tipped Genie rockets, not to mention nuclear-tipped BOMARC missiles and 16 nukes for the Honest John system deployed in Germany. Funnily enough, the first airplane model I ever built as a kid was a CF-101 with a Genie missile slung on it.

Wisely, to prevent the Canadians from using these weapons to take over the world, because otherwise only the facts that it was hockey night and Canada already had a lock on the world's supply of Labatt's was holding them back, the US maintained control of the warheads. So while the US kept the launch codes, they were in Canada under a joint control arrangement. Had push come to shove, they would have been fully released to Canadian Forces users for deployment. Thankfully that never happened.

It wasn't exactly secret that the weapons were there and Canada had them, but it certainly wasn't well known or talked about.

I remember the shocked looks among the bien pensant in Toronto who loved to claim that Canada was a peaceful nuclear-weapon free nation that only used nuclear energy for peaceful purposes -- unlike those warmongers to the south -- when in 1984 the Voodoos were retired and it was mentioned the nuclear tipped Genies were being retired with them.

"We're retiring what?!?"

Priceless.

We'll Have Nun Of That

The Detroit Free Press: Nun, protesters guilty in nuclear plant break-in

A federal jury has found an 83-year-old nun and two fellow protesters guilty of breaking into the Y-12 National Security Complex and defacing a uranium processing plant.

Guilty of both damaging federal property and interfering with national security.

Breaking into a nuclear weapons plant should result in very high penalties. Clearly security at the site needs to be improved, as does the kid-glove response approach to intruders.

Obama To Iran: More Talk And Little Sanctions For A Big Problem

The Iranian nuclear situation appears to be desperate but not serious, at least not to the Obama administration.

Foxnews: U.S. Slaps New Sanctions on Iran Revolutionary Guard Not very broad-based or truly pressure inducing. Hardly a reasonable response to Iran's constant gamesmanship and breaking of every agreement while it pushes to develop nuclear weapons.

It seems that Obama's mantra is to aways talk softly and carry a tiny stick, and never, ever use the stick.

But oh, what talk there has been:
President Obama said he's "bent over backwards" to engage Iran in "constructive" dialogue and the U.S. will push the United Nations to sanction the country. Iran told nuclear inspectors on Wednesday that it will begin higher-grade uranium enrichment within days, Reuters reported.

"That indicates to us that despite their posturing that their nuclear power is only for, for civilian use that they in fact continue to pursue a course that would lead to weaponization," Obama said during a press conference Tuesday. "That is not acceptable to the international community.

Defense Secretary Robert Gates said the Obama White House has gone further than any administration to reach out to Iran, and called the move "disappointing." He said Tehran is violating a Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and is refusing to sign off on an IAEA-brokered deal that would allow Tehran to be supplied with nuclear fuel for its medical reactor in exchange for its low-enriched uranium (LEU).

"I have never seen an administration reach out in as principled and comprehensive a way as President Obama has done," Gates said in a press conference Tuesday in Ankara, Turkey. "The response has been quite disappointing."
Wow, that could not have been predicted now could it?

Now how has that back-bending and extending a hand been working out lately?

Disappointing isn't it when all the high-faluting platitudes about restoring of America's standing in the world and efforts with "principled and comprehensive" talks instead "cowboy diplomacy" falls flat on their face and garner no results?

While the Superbowl begins, Ahmadenijad orders Enrichment of Uranium to commence

Ahmadinejad Orders Higher Enrichment of Uranium
Iran's president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad ordered his country's atomic agency on Sunday to begin the production of higher enriched uranium, in a move that's likely to deepen international skepticism about the country's real intentions on the crucial issue of enriched uranium.

In comments broadcast on state television, Ahmadinejad said: "God willing, 20 percent enrichment will start" to meet Iran's needs.

But not to worry after all as Obama's open hand diplomacy keeps hoping to dodge a clenched fist without having to actually do anything other than keep talking and threatening sanctions, eventually, sometime, later, any day now - Gates Says It's Not Too Late for Iran Sanctions
U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates is calling on the international community to rally together to pressure Iran into abandoning its nuclear program.

Gates, who's in Rome as part of a weeklong European trip, told reporters Sunday that if the international community stands together to bring pressure on Iran he believes there's still time for sanctions to work.
Sure, nothing to see here, just keep talking without doing anything as Iran continues on the road to a nuclear capability.

Don't you wish Obama would finally find the wherewithal to say "the time for bickering is over" to someone other than Republicans? Preferably to an actual avowed enemy of the United States poised to obtain Nuclear Weapons?

Obama delays as Iran builds nukes and the delivery systems for them.

On May 18, Obama says he wants progress with Iran by year's end

Iran's Response Today:
Iran says it tests missile, Israel within range.

So nice of Obama to not only give the Iranians a year to develop a nuclear weapon (and some long range solid fuel missiles to deliver them on) before he gets serious but to announce his intention to give them a year to accomplish their goals.

So much for that good ol' Hope and Change.

Change? What change? This administration wants to forget about the world while it reshapes the United State's economy and society in its own far left image.

Hope? As in - Is there any hope the Obama administration will get serious on major international problems and develops a workable strategy for dealing with them? There's been no real strategy for the Middle East enunciated by the Obama administration -- aside from:

A. its current wrongheaded, outdated and fundamentally flawed State-Department and arabist driven concept that the secret to success in the Middle East is to put pressure on Israel while mollycoddling terrorist and dictatorial regimes. Or is this strategy Obama just trying to get Israel to "take one (nuke) for the team?" and;

B. Withdrawing from Iraq (eventually) and closing Guantanamo (maybe) and not doing anything the Republican administration did with regards to national security (or maybe he will, because it is A-OK when Democrats do it).

Anyone really believe Iran is just looking for nuclear technology for peaceful purposes?

Yeah right, then why are they caught doing this: Iranian nuke plot vaporized in the city: NY banks unwittingly aided in material transfers, says DA Yes it's a rather sensational headline but here's what Iran was doing:
The Manhattan district attorney's office has smashed a sinister plot to smuggle nuclear weapons materials to Iran through unwitting New York banks, the Daily News has learned.

Officials plan to unseal a 118-count indictment Tuesday accusing a Chinese national of setting up a handful of fake companies to hide that he was selling millions of dollars in potential nuclear materials to Tehran.

"This case will cut off a major source of supply to Iran and it shows how they are going ahead full steam to get a nuclear bomb. Long-range missiles they pretty much have already," a law enforcement source close to the case said.

. . .

Experts say Iran, under the leadership of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, appears close to amassing enough nuclear material to make an atom bomb. A United Nations embargo bans Iran from acquiring the high-tech metals needed to make a long-range nuclear weapon a reality.

The indictment will outline the financial conspiracy behind 58 different transactions, including shipments of various banned materials from China to Iran between 2006 and late 2008.

Among them:

33,000 pounds of a specialized aluminum alloy used almost exclusively in long-range missile production.
66,000 pounds of tungsten copper plate, which is used in missile guidance systems.
53,900 pounds of maraging steel rods, a superhard metal used in uranium enrichment and to make the casings for nuclear bombs.
The recipient is believed to have been a subsidiary of the Iranian Defense Ministry.
Now for a harshly worded letter from the State Department...any day now.....

It's pretty sad when its the Manhattan District Attorney taking the lead on this rather than the Feds.

Obama seeks world without nukes

And I want a Pony (not really, instead I really want a Barrett .50)

Welcomed with thunderous cheers, President Barack Obama told a European audience today that he is setting a dramatic goal of “a world without nuclear weapons.”

That's not only unrealistic, its downright irresponsible. Especially combined with his administrations complete passivity in the face of Iran's nuclear weapons development and North Korea's preparation to launch an ICBM.

And he gets in a little of the "Blame America first" mojo that he does so well.
Obama said the United States shares blame for the crisis, but that “every nation bears responsibility for what lies ahead — especially now.”
Nice to see the left wing of the Left wing of the Democrats are well and truly in charge.

Now I don't want the President to fail, he's doing that well enough on his own. But I would like him to root for the home team every now and then mmmkay?
