Know how I mentioned the weather doesn't look favorable for tomorrow?
Well, forecast is for winds gusting 30-40 kts, and that's the "good" part (just so you know 30-40 knots in a small aircraft is bad m'kay?). But wait, there's more:
Marginal VFR and IFR Conditions;
Airmet Tango for moderate turbulence;
Airmet Zulu for icing;
Wind shear; and
Likely snow showers.
My assessment: Not a good day for a checkride, nor particularly even legal for me to fly down to do it.
Called a briefer to confirm what I was seeing and he said the magic words: "VFR not recommended." We chatted and both agreed tomorrow is not a good day for a checkride.
Called my instructor - assessment is the same.
Called Examiner - He appreciated my thoroughness and agreed that it would be a bad day to do a checkride tomorrow.
He was in the middle of some stuff, so we will be talking to examiner tonight about rescheduling.

Aaron,
Bummer, but...That old saw about "Better to be down here wishing you were up there, than..."
Hope things improve Thursday.
Smart move all the way around.
