Gov Whitmer Vetoes Anti-Voter Fraud Bill For Reasons

Our very own Governor Half-Whit has vetoed a bill that would help combat voting fraud in Michigan.

Why? She claims it would be confusing.

The Detroit News: Whitmer vetoes voter fraud bill, cites redundancy, confusion
Gov. Gretchen Whitmer vetoed bills that would have made it a felony to knowingly try to apply for multiple absentee ballots or to fill out an application for others without their consent.

In other words, by her veto she's good with multiple applications being made, ballot harvesting, and for outright fraud by applying for ballots for others without their consent - what could go possibly wrong?

Who did she run against, Aaron? Was her opponent that bad, or did she use some "Chicago Style" politicking to get elected?

She was elected because the legalization of recreational marijuana was on the ballot, which made many people vote, who would not otherwise have voted, and most of them were Democrats. Had that issue not been on the ballot, we would have had governor Bill Shuette, pronounced shootie, not sure of the spelling, the former Attorney General of Michigan.
Not the greatest candidate, in my opinion, but much better than what we ended up with. And a petition drive got over half a million signatures to stop the Empress of Lansing's illegal lockdowns. But the Supreme Court of Michigan ruled her unilateral executive orders. They said that she could only declare a state of emergency for 28 days, then had to consult the legislature to get it extended. A fair decision, from my point of view.

Gotcha, pigpen. That's our former governor Hickenlooper's claim-to-fame, too.

Our current Emperor is also running afoul of our state Constitution, and has been told to back off by the state Supreme Court.

drjim: Pigpen51 is exactly right - the doper vote came out to legalize marijuana in Michigan and voted solidly Democrat. Schuette was a less than stellar candidate but the marijuana legalization that the Republicans screwed up and let it get on the ballot when it was a foregone conclusion didn't help at all.

Dr.Jim,
I know a small bit about Hickenlooper. It seems like once the guy was elected, he set about trying to screw any conservative issue that he could, especially when it comes to the 2nd amendment.
It has always seemed strange to me that the ACLU supports the civil rights of Americans, except for the 2nd amendment. Of course, I say that the Democrats are the only group that I know of, that can count to 10 without using the number 2.
I don't expect all gun owners to join the NRA,or GOA, or one of the other gun rights groups. But one would think that they would at least care enough to get out and vote against Joe Biden, the most anti gun candidate to actually come out and say so, in maybe my lifetime.
Myself, I have been a gun owner since my youth. I never joined the NRA until Obama was elected president, then that was my first act after his election. I think it was the very next day, but I cannot remember for sure. I got pissed at them, for the usual reasons, and quit for a couple of years, but rejoined a couple of years ago, thinking that I could do more good from within than from without. After learning of the shenanigans at the top, I no longer give money, other than my yearly dues. One day, after they fix things the way a normal charitable organization is run, hopefully with a much smaller board, with only the good of the organization in their hearts, I will either send in a larger check, or become a life member. There is much to recommend the NRA for, from their Eddie the Eagle program, which has certainly saved lives, to the CCW training that has been the basis of the training here in Michigan, and without it, we would have to completely revamp our approach to getting a carry permit.
