So I had ordered some of the Federal 9mm ammo on sale at Classic Arms on Black Friday.
First I got a FedEx message that the ammo would be delivered between 10:30 am and 2:10 pm this past Sunday.
Oh good I thought, I'll get it and then head out to the range.
Nope, 2:10 came and went and then the update said by 8:00 pm Sunday. Then a status update with Scheduled Delivery Monday by end of day.
Then a new email came Monday morning that it would arrive between 10:30 am and 2:10 pm this past Monday.
Nope, 2:10 came and went and then the update said by 8:00 pm. Then a status update with Scheduled Delivery Monday by end of day.
Then a new email that it would arrive between 10:30 am and 2:10 pm Today.
Nope, as you might have guessed, 2:10 pm came and went and then the update said by 8:00 pm today.
However, checking the status it now says Scheduled Delivery Wednesday 12/11 by end of day.
Why bother sending these notifications if you're not even going to try and deliver it on those days?
Apparently the package has been tooling around out for delivery on a truck from Lake Orion Michigan to who knows where the past three days with no attempts at actually delivering it.
Ah well, first world problems. Maybe they'll actually try tomorrow.
Update Wednesday at 3:40 pm: Yes I got yet another email this morning with "arrive Wednesday between 10:30 am and 2:10 pm" and of course no delivery. Tracking shows it still on the truck out for delivery claiming it will be delivered by the end of the day. Still no actual attempts made at delivery to date, so I'll believe it when I see it.

Yep, that IS frustrating, to put it mildly!

Old NFO: Yep, its getting even stranger as it goes along.
Chuck Pergiel: I suspect its more a human problem, with a delivery driver or someone simply not even trying to deliver it rather than a computer glitch.
