Ah, Those Pennsylvania Democrats

They not only elected a Brain-Dead Fetterman to represent them in the Senate -- they elected a completely dead Democrat as a state representative.

University Visit: For U, It De Penn

We spent the night in Bradford PA, and then in the morning headed to Philadelphia, the home of The University of Pennsylvania.

Established in 1740, and founded by Benjamin Franklin,  its first President, it has a lot of history to offer.

 It has some very stately architecture.

It also has some iconic sculptural works around the campus.

As important as all of that, it has a highly regarded and rigorous science and biology research department, which is what the kid is looking to study.

Again, every building was shut tighter than a drum, but we got to see the outside of the buildings and quite a few students were around. The bookstore/spirit store was open, so shopping occurred.  

The area around campus is rather nice with a variety of shops and restaurants, many aimed at the hungry college student so dinning occurred as well.

Overall it's definitely one of her top choices to apply and reach towards.

Bureaucrats Always Fail Upwards

Bureaucrats do not normally get punished when they make horrible decisions that adversely affect other people's lives.  Instead they get promoted.

Joe Biden has nominated transgender Pennsylvania Health Secretary Rachel Levine (born Richard Levine) for assistant secretary of health.

This is the same Rachel Levine that as Pennsylvania Health Secretary required nursing homes to take in COVID patients.

That decision had consequences -  68% of all Covid Deaths in PA were in nursing homes. 

One resident of a nursing home was however not affected by that edict - Rachel Levine's mother. 

The Pennsylvania Health Secretary, while making that edict that brought death to thousands in nursing homes, made sure to remove mom from the danger that edict would cause.  Certainly casts a shadow of knowing culpability in regards to that decision, now doesn't it?

One would think such an obviously idiotic decision  with such disastrous results (also implemented in NY, NJ, MA, and our very own Michigan - with similar deadly results) would disqualify one from ever holding such a post of trust in regards to public health. 

Indeed, in a sane world it would likely call for criminal charges of gross criminal negligence causing death or reckless indifference causing death. But no, she's getting to go to Washington and impose more of her ill-conceived edicts on the entire nation.

So is There A Link Between

states ordering nursing homes to take in known coronavirus patients, and the resultant high death rates in those same states with those orders, with the deaths heavily coming from nursing homes?

Certainly there's a heckuva tight correlation.

Yes, Michigan also required nursing homes to take in patients with coronavirus, with predictable results. The executive order for same was renewed today. Sure enough that order requiring nursing homes to take in covid positive patients led to coronavirus ripping through nursing homes - because the definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result. Yep, Gov Half-Whit followed Cuomo et al, in passing executive orders requiring nursing homes, the location of those clustered togetherthe and most vulnerable to the Coronavirus, to be required to take in patients known to have coronavirus. To their surprise I'm sure, this lead to a spike in Corpnavirus in nursing homes.

If you wondered why it spread like wildfire through nursing homes and why most fatalities in these states have been in nursing homes, there's a good part of your answer.

Heads should roll for this kind of malfeasance.
