Wow, An American Boko Haram Apologist

Remember, Walid wants to make sure you don't mention the I-word. Walid: Corruption, bad policy are part of Boko Haram equation

Not Boko Haram's corruption and bad policy, no. He's instead up for a game of blame everything but the stated reason for their existence - to establish an Islamic Caliphate with Sharia law.

Boko Haram, like its pseudo-Christian brethren the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA), which has caused mayhem and bloodshed in Central Africa, should be viewed along the lines of a cult. Nigerian Islamic organizations, mainstream American Muslim organizations to ultra-conservatives in Saudi Arabia have condemned Boko Haram as being un-Islamic even prior to this latest act of treachery.

That's of course because the Kony's LRA has massive affiliation and support from fundamentalist Christian terrorists worldwide, just like Boko Haram has with Al Qaeda...Oh, wait, try another false equivalence Walid, you're on a roll.

Of course, contra Walid, American Muslims have not all been very quick to condemn Boko Haram: US Muslim Groups Won’t Move To Excommunicate Boko Haram

Ok, Dawud then blames US government policies for Boko Haram, rather than you, know it's stated motivation, Islam.

What has been missing, though, from many discussions on television and the hashtag campaign #SaveOurGirls is a discussion of the environmental factors that gave birth to Boko Haram and whether U.S. government policies in Nigeria actually helping its people or contributing to problems.

Yep, wherever you go, it's always the US's fault for the acts of Islamists. Funny how the view is in Dawud's world.

Dawud then throws out the poverty canard:

Boko Haram has waged a brutal campaign of terror in an attempt to overthrow the central government’s authority in Northern Nigeria in part due to many legitimate grievances. Nigeria is one of the largest oil producers in the world, yet lacks in education, economic opportunities, healthcare and security problems are rampant, especially in Northern Nigeria were Boko Haram operates.

Any excuse beside the actual stated motives of Boko Haram as stated by Boko Haram are fair game for Walid.

So Walid jumps from oversimplified strawman to strawman without substantiation, trying to hide the elephant in the room, while demanding that:

What we can do, however, from our side of the pond, besides pray, is make sure that we are not oversimplifying complex geopolitical issues and promoting misinformation about Nigerian Muslims and Islam in general.

No Dawud, we leave the "promoting misinformation about Nigerian Muslims and Islam in general" to you, and you're doing a bang-up job of it.

One day, even the average Western sap is going to stop believing the "poverty and the west causes these poor misunderstood Islamic fellows to commit acts of terrorism instead of the reasons they themselves state for their actions" canard.

When They Cair So Much About Not Being Stereotyped

Did the FBI decide to inform Dawud Walid about the course of the Boston investigation, or did he simply hear hoof beats in Boston and think Islamist Horses / Terrorists?

On April 16, before the announcement yesterday or this morning that the perpetrators are Islamic Chechens, Dawud, he who stated that Allah called for the killing of Jews and he agreed with it, presumptively wrote a column urging people not to stereotype and have no collective suspicion of the elephant in the room.

Dawud Walid, in the Detroit News:Don't let the terrorists divide us.

Of course he tries to raise all the lone wolf types in his editorial and mentions the 9/11 attacks as an aside, ignoring completely all other Islamic terrorist attacks on out soil:

Though we have been blessed and not suffered the mass violence in recent decades of Myanmar, Somalia, Sri Lanka, and a host of other nations, we know well the heinous effects of terror on the homeland. Our national conscience has been shaped by the Unabomber, Eric Rudolph’s 1996 attack at the Olympics in Atlanta, and Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols bombing of the Federal Building in Oklahoma City. And of course, Al-Qaeda’s attack on 9/11 is still a fresh memory.

He then goes on:

As we pray for the families that have lost loved ones and salute our first responders who continue to perform their duties with honor and courage, we should also be praying for calm in our communities. By calm I mean no finger-pointing and accusing entire communities of collective guilt – even if one or some among them are alleged offenders.

Perhaps he had a pretty good idea who was responsible on April 16 based on the target and methodology, hmm.

On social media, there are thousands who blamed Muslims and Arabs for what took place yesterday.

And they were right on about Islam, now weren't they Dawud? Don't expect any deep reflections from Dawud on this revelation that it was in fact an Islam inspired attack and done in the name of Islam anytime soon. Also don't expect any deepr introspection on what it is about Islam that inspires these people to bomb Americans and other innocents.

Perhaps CAIR's acronym really stands for "Covert Assistance to Islamic Radicals" rather than "Council on American Islamic Relations".

The CAIRing Mask Slips

Dawud Walid, aka Delano Anthony Willis, Jr and head of CAIR Michigan let the mask of Islam as a religion of peace and tolerance slip for a bit when he delivered a couple speeches before some Islamic audiences:

CAIR-Michigan Executive Director Attacks Jews in Two Speeches

As the IPT report notes, Dawud asked, “Who are those who incurred the wrath of Allah?” during his May 25 sermon at the Islamic Organization of North America mosque in Warren, Michigan. Dawud immediately answered his own query in Arabic: “They are the Jews, they are the Jews.”

In the January 2012 speech, Dawud claimed that when Islam’s prophet Muhammad oversaw the mass murder of the vanquished males of the Medinan Jewish tribe Banu Qurayza (accompanied by the enslavement of their women and children), it was both appropriate and not in the least bigoted, i.e., anti-Semitic. Discussing Dawud’s January 2012 Detroit speech, the IPT report observes:

“Did Muhammad order the killing of Jews?” Walid asked in a Twitter post promoting the video [of the sermon]. In response, an Islamist follower wrote, “Yes he did and I agree with it … Well isn’t treason a sentence to death.” Rather than oppose a hateful perspective, Walid merely corrected the follower and reinforced the anti-Jewish sentiment. Muhammad “didn’t order it. Sa’ad ibn Mu’aadh [one of his followers] ordered that punishment. It was a correct one.”

Once again, an Islamist is caught saying one thing in English and quite a different tale to his audience in Arabic when he thinks no one else is paying attention.

CAIR, an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation terrorism financing case, and which is allied with, if not a part of, the Muslim Brotherhood and allied with HAMAS. CAIR tries to wrap itself in claims that its a civil liberties organization that believes in tolerance, and then they get caught making these statements to their adherents revealing their task as propagandists for the Muslim brotherhood.

CAIR members of course slyly refer to Hamas as "Samah" or "Sister Samah" (Hamas spelled backwards - cute eh?) when discussing it so it can keep claiming it doesn't talk about Hamas.

Apparently such rhetorical tricks are believed by some, otherwise CAIR would have been properly marginalized to the fringe where it belongs long ago instead of having countless meetings with the Obama administration.

CAIR Michigan touts itself as

CAIR-MI’s mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding through education, mediation, media and the law.

Well, Mr. Walid certainly enhanced everyone's understanding of CAIR, Islam, and his coreligionists' beliefs and attitudes with his speeches/sermons, now didn't he?
