So, a robber attempted to rob a Detroit citizen at gunpoint last Thursday.

Unbeknownst to the robber, the victim had a CPL, and he promptly shot the robber.

The robber was taken to the hospital and the CPL holder properly acted in self-defense.

Aaron,
Not intending to be a wise ass, but to understand. And I'm glad that the right person is in the hospital. But, could you explain the difference between this incident and the incidents described in your "No, You cannot use Lethal Force..." post. Seems he was protecting his property.
On a different note, I did a bit of homework about defending property in Texas. As I understand it, Thankfully and apparently, it is not as restricted as it is in MI.

This was also my thought...what is the difference?

juvat and B: Someone stealing something from your truck without you even being there is not posing a threat of imminent death, grievous bodily harm, or forcible sexual penetration.

Someone pointing a gun at you saying your money or your life is indeed posing a threat of imminent death and thus lethal force can be used in response to his threat of deadly force.

There's about a nautical mile and half, if not more between the two scenarios.
