Israeli Hostages Released

The last 20 living Israeli hostages have finally been returned. The bodies of the dead have yet to be exchanged.

The Detroit News: Living Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners are freed as part of Gaza ceasefire

Unfortunately the release of the hostages meant releasing 1,900 Arabs many of whom were in prison for mass murder and other acts of terrorism.

The exchange rate as demanded by Hamas was practically 100 Arab prisoners for each living Israeli.

This may signal the start of a ceasefire that may hold for awhile.

Well, it will likely hold until Hamas or the PA feel frisky enough to break it again, just as Hamas broke the last ceasefire that was in place on October 7 2023.

There is so much that could be said about this seemingly good news. First I would say thank you Donald Trump. Like many other presidents before him who were successful in foreign affairs, he showed that strength is the ONLY position that you can successfully bargain from.
Having seen the Palestinian people and their elected leaders before, I can only hope that when they decide that enough time has passed that they can hope to get away with their barbaristic tactics again, Israel instead of the measured approach that they took for the last 2 plus years, will just carpet bomb the entire area of Gaza into glass.
Harsh thoughts perhaps but certainly the only way that Israel will ever know a bit of assurance that they don't have to wait for bombs and rockets from across their border to land in their own civilian areas.
One more thing in addition to the return of hostages from their captors is that I heard or read that it is hopeful that Iran will now consider negotiations in regard to their path moving forward. Now that I recall, it might have been Gen. Jack Keene who spoke about that.
At least 20 families will be celebrating for the foreseeable future. May the Lord bless them.
